*You release 1 side project ambient album
*You're remixed by another true artist
*You get your own remix album
*You're booked to atleast 2 big summer festivals 2 years in a row, both DJ & Live set
*Your "Live" includes a real band on stage
..I know not many psy artists make it  A bit too harsh specifications maybe? What you think it takes to qualify as an "artist"?

Well i cant agree with this
If you have at least one song and someone loves it really hard Well you re an artist and a true one...
At least its how i see it.. art only makes sense if someone really loves it and you don t need to have all these conditions to define an artist...
and im not talking only to psy or only to music im giving my definition of art...
As for your conditions some of them I think they are quite wrong

to be a musician you dont have to be a performer specially if you did your music alone...

I totally agree, my life changed they day my username showed up in blue on isratrance.
And to Traveller; too bad you judge musicians like that. According to you, I'll never be an artist, since I have a hard time imagining myself with a band on stage. I mean ... what are they gonna do? Just stand there and add to the rock-star factor?

I was expecting way more flaming. Oh well it's just that there are a billion and one "artists" in this scene. IMO we have to raise the bar a little to seperate the wanna bes from the true musicians. Or well it's not like it really matters a flying buck. But hey atleast it's not another who's more killer than who thread

i know where u are comming from ...
& in many cases you are right my friend ...
but i think that what makes an artist is that he can make music that thouches peoples in mind & soul ....
the attitude & spirit is very imporatant, also talent ....
the ability to see moods & situations in life and to transfer it to people through his music makes ,in my eyes , an artist.
think about that ...
