Hello, not really an unidentified track..
But I search for artists who produce music like Cosma and Cosmic Tone.
Deep, emotional and subtle soundscapes.
The only ones i have come across so far with THAT special sound i search for, is the two particular artists mentioned above..
Any recommendations? |

Deep emotional and subtle eh? If you're willing to look further than just psytrance I would suggest Markus Schulz - Coldharbour Sessions, a double cd with great mixes by this talented man. Gabriel & Dresden also is a fantastic duo to check out. DJ Misja Helsloot is also in the same vein, his Forbidden Paradise compilations are legendary here in The Netherlands. But, if you want to stick to psytrance I'd suggest Matenda (both Energy Loader and his new album Chilling Matenda) or Atmos. Freq is also a talented guy to check out. And also try the Progressive Goa Trance 2 compilation from Yellow Sunshine Explosion. You can get all the psytrance related on http://www.psyshop.com and the non-psy related... well, you'll just have to search your local recordshop or search on http://www.google.com

Thanks all for you recomendations people.
A friend played some Midi Miliz for me, and i liked their atmospheres very well. They sound a bit too 'edgy' sometimes but in general they're good.
A.K.D was in the right direction too, but i missed the WARMTH (or 'hotness', don't know how to describe it - when it's more minimal music it feels really empty if the soundpicture not is 'closer'..) in their sound. Like i find in ATMOS by the way.
Damn his "Headcleaner" album is a joyride in heaven!!! Music that makes the listener fall into TRANCE! Except from the chill-out track, that wasn't as good as in example Cosma when it comes to downtempo tracks.
I didn't really like Star-X though, too much full-on (-for the occasion and for that special touch I search for).. Especially the basslines gave me no 'rest'!! They were too sharp and 'digital sounding' for me - to develop and bring out that special feeling who i.e. Cosma has. (like the basslines in "Your 911", "Find Out" for examples, softer and more 'bassy' sounds!!)
Not to mention Atmos basslines, AAAAAAHHH i just love 'em!!! I think thats whats called real analogue sound. =)
I still will check out Freq and Lish, see if i like the clips from psyshop btw. But the best thing is to listen to the whole cd over and over, and get some peace in mind (and hypnotic groove in feet . Like i do with many of the artists above. |
