What's up guys,
I just got accepted to a semester abroad at the University of Amsterdam for the fall (Sep-Jan). I was wondering if anyone here could tell me something about what's going on there right now in the city or around it, either Trance related or not. I'm not exactly sure what part of the city that's in, but I think it's pretty central. Anything I absolutely need to check out?
I'm really looking forward to this, A 4 month "vacation" on someone elses expense sounds damn good right about now. So cheer me up even more

Dude - I'm happy to hear you will be nearby! We will have to hook up at some point while you are on the continent. You will definitely have to make it to Germany at some point - but skip Leipzig - we'll meet somewhere fun.

nice one apocalypse. I'd say spend a lot of time chillin at vondelpark. i think its beautiful. rent a bike, , and just wonder around the park. also theres 6 flags magic mountain outside amsterdam(you can go by train) pretty fun if ya ask me.
also just a warning. be cautious when your around the red light district in the dark streets. lotsa bad dealers who can trick you and try to get your money. happened to a friend.
anyway, have a great time. a 4 month great vacation it will be.

Alright... Thanks for the info people, especially the links- they are all being saved.
Abatwa- I will surely stay away from stumpling down the streets of the red light district looking for drugs late at night. Good call on that
Rik- Wow. Nice pictures, how far away will I be from some of those places where they were took? When does the outdoor season end?
Surrender- The red carpet will be out my friend. Come on over.
PsYx- check your PM box.
It looks like there is always good stuff happening in the Hague, how far is that from Amsterdam? Is the courthouse there worth checking out?
You guys need to tell me about some good Dutch DJ's or people that spin in that area, I'm seeing all these names but they don't mean much to me. I'm pretty fond of the Progressive side of things, but at a party I am open to everything. Sep-Oct is probably too cold for outdoor parties?
The festival on June 4th with Haldolium looks great, wish I was there right now
Anybody know anything about this 3rdbit thing? (party organizers it seems) Looks like that's right when I get to Amsterdam, where is Gloppe;Poststraat 21;Leeuwarden?

a train from amsterdam to brussels or antwerpen should take you about 2.5 hours to get here and not cost too much. I can get you details if you wish, just mail me and i'll look it up for you. let me know when you'd visit and i'll take care of transport to the parties (that are spread out over belgium). Outdoor parties take place untill the end of august, occasionally in september you'll still be able to party outside .
Shawnodese is one of the dutch dj's that's also a forum member, met him briefly last weekend at the gms gig and he seems a nice enough guy
to find city names like leeuwarden use www.mappy.com it's an excellent tool to find out how far apart things are. belgium and holland both have vast train networks that connect all major cities for reasonably cheap rates.

We have some very good dj's around here...probably the best Dj's are Zen & Danyel...although Danyel spends most his time in Brazil lately...so we don't see much of him lately...
Here's some info on Zen from his web-site

And this link will take u through a 360 tour of Amsterdam...
