About the Album & Artist:
Brooding, ambient, experimentation, improvisation, filled with emotion... These are some of the words that describe the sound of Evan Marc (aka Bluetech). A classically trained pianist and master of the art of software production, Evan’s love of the melodic and exquisite sense of sound design makes him one of the most ingenious producers today.
Evan achieved international recognition and success with his downtempo / chill-out project, Bluetech, making waves in the chill-out world with his unique sound and top-notch production quality. He released three full length albums on Aleph Zero Records and Waveform Records, as well as starting his own imprint, Native State Records, and touring internationally. A need to expand his sound led him to explore his love for tech-house resulting in his latest album, “Emotional Ecology.”
On “Emotional Ecology,” Evan delves into the deeper side of tech-house, presenting a melodic and dub influenced album with a focus on dance floor usability and emotional development.
"I really wanted to make an album which brought a sense of the sacred to the dance floor,” Evan says of the album. “I've always loved the sense of play that people feel when they release themselves to the moment in dance. It's light hearted, healing, and holy all at the same time. This album was written for people who dance. It was written to make a safe space for people to let themselves go and experience magic through movement."
The album is already receiving support and play from influential DJs, labels, and artists spanning a variety of electronic music genres including Gordon Field (Interchill Records), Gio (Dakini Records / Makyo), Taho (Lumina Records), System 7, and more.
Evan’s signature touch on the tech-house sound is sure to make “Emotional Ecology” a stand out release in the genre and a sought after release for collectors who know premium quality electronic music.
PsyBooty Records is proud to present yet another ground breaking, genre bending masterpiece by Evan Marc.

"Evan's sound is as always, unique and inspiring. Its dance music you can chill to. Un-offensive, but still bumping - right where my heart is headed these days!” – Simon Baring (Twisted Records)

"Solid leading edge debut album from Evan Marc – highly recommended” – Andrew Ross Collins (Interchill Records, Macro Records, Mariko Music Publishing)
"This one I’ll recommend until I’m blue in the face or until you hit me, whichever comes first." - Psyreviews.net

Exciting news! ‘Emotional Ecology,’ the new album by Evan Marc on PsyBooty Records got some airplay on the BBC Asian Network this past weekend!
The track ‘Ekoshok’ was featured on Pathann’s Musical Rickshaw, a weekly show focusing on eclectic world, downtempo and chill-out music. 2. Active Ingredient (Cates&dpL Chemical Compound Mix)
3. Active Ingredient (Cates&dpL Alternate Circuit Mix)
About the Release
2007 saw the release of the first full-length album by Evan Marc (Bluetech, Native State Records, Thoughtless Music, Somnia) entitled "Emotional Ecology" on PsyBooty Records. Now phenom production duo, Cates&dpL, put their golden touch on one of the stand-out tracks from that album, "Active Ingredient." Cates&dpL present two distinct perspectives on Evan Marc's original hitting on smooth, deep tech-house, and edgy minimal techno.
About the Artist
When two talented forces come together unifying their knowledge of everything music - something special happens; enter Cates&dpL. With backgrounds in the industry as both musicians and as tour management, Jon Cates and David Lind have grown and developed together to push the envelope with their unique sound.
Cates&dpL have been noted for their musicianship since they started in 2003, and over the past five years they have matured alongside their musical techniques and devices. Not wanting to sound like every other electronic act, they have put more attention on being a team rather than solo artists. This effort stands out in their carefully crafted music, and they gain influence from one another every day...giving each track they produce its own character and feeling.
Although many people would consider them newbies, Cates&dpL have been achieving success since day one. Triumphs for the duo have put them in coveted spots including #1 placement on Beatport's Breaks Downloads, a feature on James Zabiela's DJ Mag covermount CD, as well as a feature on the Global Underground Paris compilation - mixed by Nick Warren. These successes have only pushed the two harder.
