With almost a year of experimentation. Two of the most promising trance artists of Mexico. Anti Gravity (Ivan Vargas) and Substance (Victor Aguilar) decide to create this massive mixture of serious and clearly defined dance music, and put it all together on this mind invasion called “Space Invaded”. Expected to be an album even the techno phobic couldn’t ignore.
The effect of listening to it from start to finish is like aching to gorge oneself with Halloween candy. Like stuffing oneself with a bunch of sweet fluff melodies. But not too filling… it’s an experience you’d want over and over again. It transforms the usual operatic pretensions of trance into a quick and potent chunk of resonant explorations of high loaded bass lines. Heavy weight drum sequences, distorted beats and many explorations of specific timbres that linger close to a central idea on each cut., incorporating just enough variations to remain disturbing the dance floor.
Holding balance with the rhythmic strategies, massive breakdowns were par for the course in dance music. Unleashing monsters like “Space Invaded” and “High Definition” demonstrating their beats and rock mentality to be ahead of its time. Id-School electro melodies and tweaked to the extreme 303/606/909 shows the clear and renovated influence of old school electronic dance music and many other kinds of vintage and high technology sounds.
Phantasm Records and its tunes are fast becoming recognized as some of the best in business, and this time wouldn’t be the exception. Expect a blast on earth this spring
