Hello.

dont u ppl think is a VERY UGLY thing to record artits live set or eaven dj set from a party?

i mean the artists play the newst tracks , that are usualy unreleased. and some ppl just record theire set and cut out the tracks and upload it to the net, and than the music is going around by traders.

whos fault is it ? the orgenaizer of the party or the man who is in charge of the equipment?

any way, after all this ocassions the trance lovers and the crowed who going to party loosing all the fresh sounds..

i mean, from an artist point of view, i will prefer to play how much less unreleased music and better play the old released tracks that evrybody know to avoid the risk that some one maybe recordeing our set.

so you ppl should think about that point.

next, i wanted to ask for some tip's from more expirienced artist in the scean.

what u do to avoid that recording problem?

what should we chack out?

tnx alot.

I seen this happen a few times...
All I can suggest to you is be tight with your music, Case/bag at parties.
Also check your mixer outputs see if there is a MD or DAT or anything record out of the mixer.

@ Ecliptic-Trance events in NYC, we do not allow any recordings other then video cams (that usually do not capture sound in a sufficent manner to be re-played).

We get several requests to record the set, either on md or by other digital means.

our answer is always no, we do not even ask the artist if its ok, because that question in my opinion isnt valid in its nature.           "On the other hand, you have different fingers."

u write Stas!!!!!!!!

1st before your live/dj set , check behind the Consule/dj mixer the cabels that all there is perfect and if u see cabel that stand on record or on more output enable just desable it and if u c somthing recordable (MD,DAT) just damage it dont afraid from anyone and if someone tell u about it somthing call to organizer of the party and security , trust me this man will be punished

-=-=-=-It's A Big Crime-=-=-=-=-=

the artists/Dj's working hard on this music and someone recording their set , cut it and go to share/trade this one in I-Net

this is realy Ugly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Peace and Love!!!!!!

this happens a lot in the place I live. people frequently ask to record the set and then pass it out to their friends.
I also think it isnt a nice thing to do. the artists should not allow this to happen.           `Bottomless wonders spring from simple rules, which are repeated without end` Mandelbrot

Yess it's veeeery bad ....
If they just keep it for them self and dont make slices with Tracks and play them at Parties i think it's o.k. ...
but if they Record and the Artist don't even know it ...then it's a reeeealy bad think ...
it's like to steal someones dj case ...

What also happens to me once was : i uploaded some Samples of my Tracks in the Internet ...not Full Tracks ...realy cutted and with scraches ...
and not to download as mp3 ... just to stream ... 56 kb mp3 ...very bad quality ...
A guy (named CUCA) made a record from the downstream , compressed it and made an edit ... did the start to the end and changed some Parts ...
i think that's worst ... u wanna show ppls what u are doing and they know nothing better as to edit it and to trade it in the Internet ...

Also Live recorded Minidiscs and stuff getting edited ...that's unfair for every Artists who spend hours . days . weeks . months . and Years to doing the Music...

that's my opinion ...

Hey... I know what u are talking about... And hate THIS stuff... However for trader assholes think it is a GREAT job, and get the unreleased tracks (besides in low quality and cutted) with no permission of the artist... it is something that really pisses me off... I wish ppl just know what they are doing, because its hard to be a musician and to be stealed like that... stop it THIEVES!!!

Man you guys are harsh, I would love to be allowed to record someones live or dj set not for the fact that I would be popular with the mp3 mafia but for the fact that i can always remenber the live/dj set that ive heard specially if something magical happened during that time. It would be mine and only mine md my mates could hear it but not have it.

You guys always see the bad side of things.

Some djs are worse than mp3 traders, not that im backing up any form of trading, but the artist trusts more some dj that they never met than some random person. what is the difference? Some djs are even more greedy for unrl tracks than a mp3 trader.

If I was a artist and some genuine guy (if it was a bird i would not think twice lol) asked me to record my live on his md, i would say go for it.

I have question for u NeutroN :
If u say yes to to record and week after your unreleased track that should released on the future run all over the net and than all the labels dont want to buy your track because it spread on the net , what u say than ?
And it happen not one time and not two times...

what you blame just the ones that want to record a live?

Nowdays with the fast internet connection, traders want full albums or full unrl tracks which are taken from promo cds. Where do these promo cds come from? I doubt very much that someone will cut the tracks and then play them in parties.

guy cohen, most of the tracks that are spread on the net come from promo cds man (fact). Always made a different live, not a replica from what you have on the studio. make 2 versions of a track a live one and a album one. If the labels say no to that track say fuck it do another track just as good or even better or are you just a one hit wonder and/or a copypaste of another artist.           "Great things are only possible with outrageous requests."
