So i got a new soundcard, the motu traveler and installed it. working perctly playing sound, midi is also working as its supposed to (in cubase). Then i uninstalled the old EMU 0404 card and removed it from the PC.
Now, in SX3 the motu asio driver is chosen, EMU is not an options here as its uninstalled - BUT, here is the strange part, at all my audiotracks its only possible to choose "EMU ASIO STEREO IN", and in device menu, MOTU ASIO is chosen (emu is still not an option here) ! :S ?? i dont get it..... then i unistallede cubase, removed log files, then reinstalled. same shit, EMU is the only option i have to record from, and its really starting to annoy me
What should i do next?

Alright, I will try to help you, it will probably solve your problem.
*Open your cubase.
*Go to DEVICES.
*Click on VST CONNECTIONS and go to OUTPUTS.
*Right click on BUS NAME and REMOVE BUS.
*After the bus is removed right click on your mouse and ADD a new STEREO BUS.
That should solve your problem.
Hope it helped.
Peace.

Thanks for the help. I found out what was wrong by looking in the (MOTU) manual.
it says on installing the traveler: IMPORTANT! DO NOT CONNECT THE TRAVELER BEFORE DRIVERS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED. also it says: do NOT install drivers using windows driver search unit, use the .exe on the cd.
Guess i was too keen on plug'n'play it
Still, thx for the answer, appreciated!

maybe ask this more explicitly in this forum,
i did not solve the problem but would not call myself an expert on cubase.
ask the masters before you throw anything away. |

ok thanks. i'll just produce my old projects without recording. In new it seems to work fine.
Anyhow, i also had this problem lately that my pc suddenly shut down a few minutes after turning the traveler on. I read in the manual again and it says: "Using firewire pci adaptor, make sure the pci card has direct connection to the PSU".....of course it doesnt have a direct connection better go and buy a USA>Denmark plug so i can run it on the mains instead
