I've been working on some skits and i wanted to know some info when i send it to my friends for judgement. what is the best way to preserve quality when i save in mp3.. the process is this:
1. make the music
2. compress to mp3
3. my friend burns it to wav on nero and gives me his opinion (he doesnt want to listen to it on his computer only on a real stereo system.)
so my question is when i compress into mp3 and since its later gonna be burned to wav by nero which is the best:
1. compress it VBR
2. compress it to 192kpbs
3. compress it to 320kpbs
4. all of the above are the same.
please assist if you can.

1 & 3 are the same when it comes to quality...
but if u want to send him a small(er) file...use VBR, because it processes less bits when the information in your track is less...let's say in a quiet passage it's only 200 kbps, while when your track is filled with sound...it will go up to 320 kbps...
So this process will take up less space... |

agree with psyx...
or if your file isn t too big, u can split the .wav ( what s the problem about the big file ? -slow connections ? )

You compressing the wav and then decompress it for burning? it's not logical and you loose nice part of the quality,
Why can't you burn the .WAV directly by sending it to him or burn it by yourself,
as medirium said you can split the .WAV file using some compression progs like winzip/winrar and then combine them back together when they reach their destination

You can use monkey's audio (dont remember the url, google for it).
Loseless compression, about 50% the size of the original.

superglue, when you compress into rar and decompress it back you are not loosing even a bit of quality in the way- when you compress into mp3 you will never bring it back to the same original quality when decompressing it.
2 totally different kinds of compression

I agree with Mike A.... if you do the math then the Monkey Audio file is about twice the size of the 320kbps mp3. worth the extra dl time to get perfect quality and remove any doubts....
