VB1 problem

hmm...i put a basic eq in the chain first...to eliminate all frequencies i don't need...then appy compressor (if needed) and distortion, then another eq to do the fine tweak.
i also like my bassline with less processing, but as it is a pretty important part of the track i don't mind using two eqs for it.

I use VB-1 sometimes for my basslines!
This VST is very limited, so most of the work is in the EQ to get the right sound!           Free Sample Pack:

thx guys to share your experience! you really helped me.

the problem with the quadrafuzz is more that i dont understand it^^
the are 5 types of shapeformers (i choose the 1st one, sounds best to me), and next to it i can see a multibandEQ or something, i solved the low end problem boosting it with this.
then there is also a filterbank, what i dont use^^ , because it does the same thing as the EQ at the right side lol

so... why dont use a simple EQ for that?

here a screenshot of it (kick+bass):

brain train, thanks for uploding the vb1, but i still often hear the errors... often notes are muted or have much klicks in it...

the strange thing is, that it works sometimes... so it just can be software bug (together with my software) that sucks           www.soundcloud.com/orgytime

Is it only VB-1? maybe it's an audio buffer problem? Did you try to increase it?           Monitoring devices, know where you go

thanks for your advice, i thought i got this option at maximum... but ill check it again, it really sounds like there is not enough buffer^^
strange because vb1 is a small vst and other vsts work perfect.

hi. i checked the options now, the cubase guide says, that low latency/buffer is good, so...
i got the obtion [low latency] activated, but the display says that my latency is (asio multimedia driver): [incoming 110.000 ] and [out 750.000].

i think thats to much, and i cant increase it, maybe the problem is that im using my onboard soundcard, but im using a very good pc (dual core...) and EVERY other vst is working well.

so is a good soundcard needed?

Well, in order to get rid of clicks and pops, if that is your problem there, you would need to increase the buffer size of the audio card, that leads to latency rise if you use midi keyboard. If you are serious about music production (at least in future) then yes, get a good sound card, the decent ones for a start come pretty cheap these days. I don't know if you can play with asio multimedia buffer, but as far as i am concerned it maybe also a problem within OS, onboard sound card and processor load Check if you are getting same shit when wi-fi off and nothing except your DAW with 1 single vsti with no fx running. Then try increasing the load on the CPU by stacking more vsts and see what happens. I think it is an audio buffer or a CPU load problem, but you never know           Monitoring devices, know where you go

Change it to asio directx driver!! Change it in hardcore fast!!
@dx driver You have many less latency (46ms is possible on onboard soundcard) and everything work fine. I tested this drivers. Or install asio4all drivers

hey, thanks guys!
but again, its only this vst... other vst´s i can stack easy (last mix 20 vst´s), and vb1 bugs with only 1 vst in the project.
ill try the directx driver, but i think i alrdy tried that and it didnt work...

anyway i have got to get a soundcard.

just to complete things... now i got a e-mu soundcard (180€) and my problem is solved (latency is now about 50).
i also noticed a +speed in some cubase processes...

i thought i dont need a soundcard, because i have got enough speed, well it changed my mind!

but really strange is, that this little vb-1 dont works with onboard my soundcard like all other vst´s.
