You can also use your sampler's attack from the envelope that is controlling the amplifier.
Back off the attack, enough to get rid of the slap.
Peace out.

hi guys, i dont want to spam the forum, so ill ask my vb1 question in this old thread.
i never used vb1, but for better understanding and learning - ill try it out.
my problem is, how do you get a psy souns of it?
i heard of adding distortion and so on.
anyone can give an example of process? like: make fullon bassline, add this vst, take this preset and hicut ...
and my second question is, how to make glide with this vst, i want to glide from one octave to the next, and set the speed of the gliding to, is this possible? and when not, is there any way to do it with a additional plugin?
hope this question isnt to wannabesoundgoodbutiamamoron ^^

1. take the synthi bass preset
2. draw in your bassline
3. adjust notes, note lenghts and velocity
4. automate decay/release (it's not visible in the gui but it's in the parameters list
5. put an eq (cut lows, add hipass)
6. add quadrafuzz (play with settings)
7. maybe a little envelope shaper (like transient monster or transient shaper)
hope this helps!
edit: if you want a vsti for kicks try bazzism...it's just as simple as vb-1 (and it doesn't eat up much of your cpu) |

as i know this plugin has no glide. i read some tutorials with this plugin. the most use the synth bass preset and then add waves plugins like rbass or maxxbass and eq the sound.
to get glide you have to sample the waveform of this plugin and search a loop in your sampler.

to be honest i wouldn't add rbass or a similiar bass enhacer plugin...if you tweak it right, there is enough low-end.

hi results are really good but i got some 1 more question:
what is important at playing with quadrafuzz?
i dont get the point of it^^
aah, and do you know this problem, that it sometimes dont play all notes? seems like a bug. i heard about 2 differnt vb1 plug ins... i have got the silver one.
cheers

i don't have problems with my vb-1...check your pm ^^
hm, with quadrafuzz i take the basic preset, reset all bands to zero in the graphical view, and first adjust the middle low one. listen to it while tweaking, and somewhere there is a point where it has enough lowend and sits in the mix (if you adjust the frequency left or right). then tweak low end and the highs and your done.
if you managed it one time it's easy to do it. |

When I put a quadrafuzz over the vb-1 I do it right after it in the chain before any EQ. I don't understand the point of doing careful eqing just to mess it up afterwards.
It can be done that way I suppose but I could never get a good result without re-eqing afterwards and I like to use minimal processing where possible. |
