from disco hooligans,
It baffles me as to why people keep using vb-1 up to this day. Not only because it takes a lot of work, but mainly because it takes a lot of work and it still sounds shite.

i remember a huge track, called OB1 from Absolum, absolute killerbassline and am pretty sure its the good old VB-1 doin the bassline.
you normally bring a lot of sense in your posts, but not always bro. but maybe its just not your day with the latest news,

Like I said, I am not going to dislike a tune, or a bassline where I love the notes and the context in which the bassline, is in.
Its just that there are so many better bass (soft) synths these days, it is that which baffles me.
Anyhow, I don't like absolum's music, but I haven't heard the tune in question...or might have as I have been to a few Absolum gigs, but just did not really pay attention, as his music falls thin on me....that thing about taste we were talking about before.

yeah VB1 takes a lot of work. I usually use Trilogy or Alien303. SO much easier. One day, the riddle will be solved about this VB1 shit though.

Koozer, what do you do with your VB1 basses?

yo i missed u my bad..
primarly im doing night psy these days
first i search for a low note for those kinda basslines..
first add a Parametric EQ 2 from FL studio ..i kill all high freqs..put a llitle higher the mid freqs..and the lower ones just up a little for more bass
another EQ`only to kill the high freq lestovers..and sometimes i add a third one to make little changes + a normal compressor without touching it and after that i shorten the notes of the bass melody by 1/3
=D hope i helped
