vb1 bass under the microscope ; learning

Hello Friends!
anyone succeeded in creating a vb1 like bass with any other synth?
When I look up the Sample in teh wave editor there is some picking attack noise, and the following waveform is a kind of Saw. It tried to create such kind of bass with my VirusB but i dont get the Sound in that direction.
Any suggestions?
Some certainly will come up with teh Question: "why not simply use vb1"
well, I want to learn to tweak sounds in specific directions and teh VB1 is definatly a direction

well, other than the knobs, the vb-1 is a sort of physical model bass synth, so you would need most likley some sort of wavetable to mimic this osc if you want to clone the exact sound....
another route to go might be waveshaping, but good luck with that...

in lot of tracks people think it s vb1 but in fact it s the virus bass,it can sound exactly the same and much better,but i don t remember how i programed it and don t have a virus anymore, i ll see if i can find the patch . |

synthi bass preset is pure saw wav with no lp filter , may be tiny cut and some env open.
vb1 is sample based , meens that its all actualy samples of diffrent basses , rather then actual osc in action.
anyhow , try to emulate trilogy with virus

ansolas sorry i can t find the patch anymore but you can be close with the virus and better offcourse.the oscillators can sound a bit the same as the synthi preset.
tsabeat the virus is sampled in trilogy !but no one use it |

I also made a VB1 type sound when i had a Virus b. Sorry but i dont remember what i did but its possible. |

Why would you want to recreate the vb sound when you have a virus?
With my nord rack2 i just create a better sounding bass 
Vb1 ist exactly the best sounding bass... |

cosmosis has on his site patches for your virus. try twangbass or something called like that (if i remember well) it sounds vb1-ish but is nicer. good luck. post a sample if you found it! |
