The samples sounds really smooth...reminds me of the good ol' clean cut ambient/intelligent techno from the mid 90ies and it's not going too overboard with ethnic samples and whatnot. I expect alot from this one!

Vataff Project - Kalitz (AlephZ09)

Release Date: May 19th, 2008

E-flyer with free track for download: http://www.aleph-zero.info/media/AlephZ09/Flyer/VataffFlyer.htm

It's not often that a label can say it is releasing something that sounds like nothing ever made. With the release of Vataff Project's Kalitz, Aleph Zero is proud to say just that. Welcome to the dark mysterious forests of Bulgarian musician Victor Marinov's mind. In the age of instant hit tracks we invite you to an 80 minutes long journey out of this world. Arranged as one piece like in Vataff Project's live sets, Kalitz offers a true album experience.
The project has its own distinct sound, although it contains elements of psychedelic techno, IDM, trip hop & ambient, occasionally incorporating traditional Bulgarian instruments. Vataff's music is like nothing you've ever heard and it engulfs you in thick psychedelic atmosphere with alien sounds that sucks you into another world from the first note.

Track list:
1. Orpheus Forest
2. Inner Beauty
3. Plasticine Bird (album edit)
4. Kalitz
5. Patayasa
6. Mist
7. Dvabrakia
8. Utc
9. Orale

i think one should be VERY careful when stating something like this. the samples sound like high quality chill music with a personal approach for sure but like nothing ever made? this really is silly promotion jargon
and why do i take it so seriously? because i've been on a search for something never heard before for a long time without finding it. my opinion about it is that humans have to evolve in a way or another (spiritually or biotechnically) before one can actually really start talking about making and receiving music never done/heard/sensed before.

Well.... when I write the release notes, I write what I feel and think (like I write my reviews).

I really never heard anyting like Victor's music before. It hit me like that the first time I put the CD he sent me in the mail in my stereo, and that's how it stayed. Just listen to this album, or better, try and get to hear Vataff's live sets. It's just a different experience.

I meant it more in the simple sense of the words, and not so "big". Didn't mean to sound bombastic. It just sounds different, almost alien

Also I think that evolving is more a perpetual continual thing and not a big jump process.

Anyway, enough writing about our releases, I'll leave that to you guys- just wanted to clarify a little.

This music sounds pretty original to me. And I thought the promo ad copy was superb. I am going to digitally download this release for sure! Is lossless / non-DRM available?
