Here we go - added benefits - losing all those different knobs means that the file is now 2.5mb instead of 5.2mb.
Also, ironed out some bugs with preset names (which would prevent proper automation of everything, and stop the patches being saved accurately by the sequencer), and put in an init patch.
Increased the number of patches from 4 to 64 for a bank, so preset building starts to make sense.

There is a bug in cubase sx 3, the lp res knob in delay fx section seems to be stuck, though sounding like changing, but can't see changes. Sick VSTi, man! Love it

thanks for pointing that out - hadn't noticed that!
It was a simple error and its now fixed, as you point out values are still passed from your mouse movements, so I'm going to sit on this one just for a little bit before releasing a patch, in case any other issues pop up, and I can wefge them all into one more significant release.
I don't want to spam the hell out of people constantly with updates, so I'll stick it up this weekend.
Let me reassure that this bug is purely a visual glitch on my point, and the inner gutts of the synth remain 100% working, despite what its telliing you!

hehe yes maybe a mac version, one day far from now though I'm afraid. (sadly)
Glad you like it Tricossoma.
here is a little taster of the sorts of things it can do:
http://files.filefront.com/Vampire+Squid+From+Hellmp3/;10380049;/fileinfo.html
every single synth line is Vampyromorphida... including the bass which is straight out of the synth with no EQ or Compression...
In general nothing outside of EQ and a touch of 'verb was used on any synth line (althought there are one or two exceptions) It seems at home making dark scratchy noises and big leads. It can do pads, but its less good at that and long risers are a weakness. I may look at that.

wicked! sounds great! is all sounds from the synth? awsome, ill wait for latest version.. cant play with it right now anyway

If someone compiled a little manual, that would be great, i don't understand one fx section, don't remember what it's called in there.
Also, is there a chance of throwing in a couple of LFO's? Would be great, unless i missed it somewhere already, D'oh

There are two LFOs in there, one in the osc section, and one in the filter section, both are tied into their respective selections and offer a good degree of control. I may well put more routing destinations in the mix, but I won't be adding more LFO's - I do not want to make this a semi modular (for many reasons! Some of which are top secret! ). In each section, look for the three knobs next to each other labelled 'Speed, Depth, Phase'. These control the LFO. Next these on the right hand side, there are two drop down menus the top one allows you to control the LFO waveform shape, and the other allows you to control where you send the LFO output to.
Neither is temposynced, which is also entirely by design, and a concious decision to 'limit' the synth, making it very quick and easy to edit, with no fucking about.
I imagine the fx section you are having trouble with is called 'Singularity', as the other two are fairly standard chorus and fx units.
Singularity is a phaser/flanger/chorus/tape delay unit. It is a complicated plugin, but its also a very powerful one, and to my mind its also the bit I'm most proud of.
Start of by setting the wet<-->dry at the top to about midway, the input gain to nearly full and the feedback to half way. You can now hear what is going on.
To get it flanging:
Make sure that the feedback and mix modes are set to 'reg' and not 'inv'. More on this later.
Set the delay mode to 'manual' and 'digi' and 'short'. Now, use the delay knob to set the centre of your flange sound up. Keep the LFO speed slow, and the depth right up. I suggest either using a sine wave, or the triangle wave in the waveform drop down.
Play with the feedback, stick it right up - and you should be getting that big flanger cycling sound.
Phasing:
Exactly the same as flanging with two very notable exceptions. One is essential, one is optional.
Switch the delay feedback mode to 'inv'. Now its a phaser! Why? This is quite technical but basically both phasing and flanging are delay effects, which is exactly the same thing as saying that they are EQ effects. By inverting the feedback path of the delay, each new delay is an inverted version of the last delay (like the difference between a saw wave and a ramp wave) When you add these delays together, you are left with no EQ change, however the phase is changed, and bingo phaser! Obviously, it isn't perfect, as each delay is not exactly equivalent to the last one - which gives it a bit of character!
Optionally, invert the mix output too. This can help seat the orignal signal and the modulated signal together - this is also true of standard delays.
Chorus:
manual delay again, set to 'long'. Note you have feedback, and can make your chorus phase - there is a whole world of unexplored murky twighlight chorus/phasers/short delays here... experiment!
Delay :
Set to 'sync' Now you can use the drop down boxes for time, and its a standard delay effect... except that the LFO is still working! So you can modulate delay time around a fixed synced time.
Switching to 'tape' emulates classic delay mode (this works whether you are synced or manual). The input audio is now delayed by the same period as the delay. This is great, as when you use the LFO to modulate the delay time, the delay can now come before the dry signal, allowing all manner of vintage chorus, and frankly totally fucking mad delay zaps and wibbles. It can take a little setting up, as you will need to manually compensate for the offset to the original audio, either through midi compensation, or bouncing and positioning by hand.
You can also draw your own waveforms for the LFO in the black box. Select 'user' as the waveform in the drop down menu, and off you go.
Power user tip - Try setting up a good sound with a manual time, and a good sound using the sync delay - using the same settings for the LFO and everything except the delay time. Now whack the glide right up, and automate switching between sync and manual - up up and away!
Hope this helps. If anyone has any other questions about any other function, don't hesitate to ask - There is a logical reason behind everything
