After such a great success with the first Vanguard compilation, I can say that
Tribal Vision repeated same sound formula for the second time. After listening to
Vanguard 2 compilation, I have discovered new, great, positive energy in their taste
of sound. Nice and precisely selected lower tempo tracks with lot of space for
catching the dancing moves between beats.
Morning style with many emotional melodies and uplifting backgrounds which make the
bass sound a little bit higher then usually. In every single track on compilation, you can hear crystal clear elements which are floating over the low bass line frequencies and fat leads, keeping
the composition above and under the ground at the very same time. I surely believe that the tracks like this can, literally, hold you or hug you on the dance floor. Ok, this is maybe nothing new for this kind of music production, but it certainly can be whole new experience for body and soul. And that's what
music is for, to make us coming back for more.
Artists who appeared on this VA, from original producers to remixers, are selected
very carefuly to make the whole composition of this release and that was the main
reason why I have described whole release in global instead of describing each track
individually. Lot of well known names and veterans like Vibrasphere, Duca, Slater, Yutopia, Tegma,
Peter Gun and some names that few years ago were new for me, like Johson & Haske or
Komytea - guys that I remeber by their extraordinary track "Lost in Kyoto" which was
a great track in that period. I've noticed that they are using some unique style on
basslines. This can be their brand
Beats of every track on this VA are great for mixing and combining, so this is
actually very DJ friendly release for many different kinds of DJ sets. You can play
it in minimal, progressive house, tech-house, in a little bit harder techno and of
course in indispensable trance sets.
There are many elements in all tracks that take a part in each of these styles.
Techy beats, trancy melodies, progressive breaks, effects and rubber pads, bassline
that fits in good. Everything else is just a matter of taste.
One big, pumping and melodic release which I declare totally successful! And of
course, I suggest that all morning style and disco club DJs pay their attention to
this CD, for spinning it 'till late mornings!!!
Rise up Your hands!

All the best          ------------------

Bought the Johnson & Haske tune on Beatport yesterday, and it's a wonderful summer-anthem. Judging by the extended version of "Offset" from the Yotopia-album, "Offset" is really good as well

Bring on the reviews lara - we need more activity in this section           DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

Must agree with Profane & Glenn here: the Johnson & Haske is arguably their best release so far. Definitely a strong asset in this collection, but which does not surpass #1 Vanguard, IMHO.
Other than that :

yeah, I hope so because no offense (I assume English is not Lara's first language) but a lot of the sentences and there structure make no sense. It makes for a very hard read. Saying that, I'm English & I can't spell to save my life.

Fantastic compilation!

I was really impressed, and I like pretty much all the tracks, with a few exceptions along the way. Deserves to be heard.           http://www.facebook.com/nasa.tranceproject

Here goes my review:

V.A. - Vanguard 2 (Feb. 2009/08)

1.Vibrasphere - Isolation (Hidra rmx)
2. Astronivo - Reaching Alizeta
3. Brisker & Magitman - Saint Elmo
4. Tegma, Duca, DJ Slater - East Block (Komytea rmx)
5. Miki Litvak - Winki Style
6.Duca - Technology
7. Yotopia - Offset
8. Jonson & Haske Breeze
9. Peter Gun - Ebrium
10. Nipp - ORL (James Harcourt rmx)
The second compilation of the Vanguard Series has arrived presenting a variety of 4/4 styles with previously unreleased and exclusive tracks specially selected by Dj Slater A.K.A. Michael Smetana which is the head manager of Tribal Vision Records. The label started working in 2004 and nowadays it's on the verge of becoming one of the leading progressive labels.
The cold beauty of this compilation is represented by some of the most talented progressive producers around. Vibrasphere remixed by Hidra.... Sounds like night time music meant to be played on a big sound system penetrating clubs and hearts(T1). For sure the groovier part of it is not missed, in which Astronivo, Tegma and Jonson and Haske take place. For the Astronivo guys I guess this is a piece of cake, they know hot to make a perfect yet indescribable track which has it's ups and downs respectively(T2). So, maybe Komytea was feeling jealous and decided that it's time to remix the Tegma guys. And so he did, producing a massive piece made for even more massive sound with uplifting progressive house anthem - “5KW ready™”(T3). As the cd continuously spins on my player I become more certain that there is much more than just groove. And after a few more spins I prove myself right for which I have to thank Mr. Duca , Yotopia and James Harcourt. God damn Mr. Duca! That's quite a work you have there.... The ongoing sensation of progress and the commodore like cheezy synths makes a grown man dance(T6). Same goes for Yotopia. Hmmm. the kick bass correlation is psy progressive, the tiny sounds are a bit minimal, the stabs are house like ?? Overall the atmosphere is tight, proving the fermented talent that Yotopia made through the years(T7). Sharp sounds and a tight deep rhythm herald another dance floor hit and for sure it is, sharp and infectious one(T8).
Recommendation:Most tracks are in the same vein: moody, tight and a bit twisted, with arrangements rendered even more powerful that suck in the listener. A must have release.
The artwork is pretty much the same as the previous compilation but it has more colors and the artist presentation is unique as always.
Favourites:1,2,4,6,7,8,9 that's about all of them.
