Megalopsy - Zazaz, zazas, nasatanada zasas
the beginning is made by the labelheads themselves and introduce me to the trip with a long almost 2 minutes intro to make sure from the baselines start what to expect. a rolling groove with lots of spooky lines in the backround and beautifully added little jingles build up a massive atmosphere. heads down and groooove ahead with damn forcing acidleads becoming spiralistic during the track. the right dose of strangeness spangled with a lot squeezed samples make this to a brilliant startup trip for my taste and has the feeling to wobble me apart in the end.
Frantic Noise - Conciencia Forest
second goodie is also from the labelheads but appear here in their different project. a bit more deeper groove and also quit more gripping to me. more cautious build up here with an atmosphere become also quit spooky, but then there is the break ... good forward but not neccessary in my little bloody opinion. after second break i am a bit dissappointed as the trip factor is more or less nice, just interrupted by these tries to build up more tension. in the end it seems ideas were missing as it becomes a bit monotonous, nevertheless a decent track.
Pandoras Box & Will O Wisp - Event Horizon
i heard of Pandoras Box before and her ein corporation with an artist called Will O Wisp they does not loose time to groove ahead. some kinda little high jingle sound seem to say "come here!" and there i am .. thrown in a wobbeling atmosphere with squeezed acids flying around, and still this sound guiding me through. and then gate is opened and creatures creeping out gargling in my face. high trip factor here, love this shit! this seem to be the experience if you reach the so called "event horizon", a different galaxy with lots of windows to have a quick look in. a bit too much of these breaks and 3 minutes before end.. a too long one for my taste ... but damn i am back in this mushroom atmosphere like tripped out world right after. creatures still talk to me in strange languages .. man this is the shit .. without the break fanatism a killer No. 1 track!
Ghreg On Earth - Bandwidth Shunyata
Ghreg from San Francisco / USA needs no introduction anymore. his unique broken styled way of electronic music production is remarkable. this track is no exception. starts with these known broken samples and needs no longer intro to start his more decent baseline. some riffs coming in usually i dont like, but he knows to handle them in a strange way and there he adds his typical mystic parts with these original sounds. this is
again a far tripped out gem in his typical manners. he knows to change the direction by adding soem even more hacked strange sample lines and giving the base also kinda kick to move forward. be careful as usual an advanced trip to expect!
Cerebral Factory - Nia KOr
this project is formed by Karash and Vince LeBarde / Electrypnose. a more faster base makes clear this is a stomper from beginning. after introducing some technic samples they have the kick and catch me with sharp percussions and creeping out of the backround. the sensitive feeling to build it up in a way you seem not to notice they have you catched in their swiss manners of exactness. every corner is spangled with some sound possible to discover. sometimes hidden but there, no hole isen't filled here with a noise to taste. a more keep me on earth track then the flying high goodies before. decent one to me.
Megalopsy & Xikwry Neyra - Shapeshifter
a deep base shooting me back into cosmos, atmosphere graps me in the neck and throws me away again. this is also a tractorkindalike groove, meands heads down and pronging the dancefloor. layered spiral lines were main backround atmosphere and this bubble seem to lay on the world as the break and voice samples takes place. its uncompromising in its style and becomes more and more tricky during the track but its not my favourite track here as a bit story misses in my opinion, but again a tripper with the potential to keep me groovin'.
Polyphonia - Floating Away
now the greek madness takes place in the line up wich usually is a highlight everywhere, and damn it is again. ahhhh ... these strange higher sounds in the very beginning may divine what to expect. a deep base and the sensitveness to build up this goodie perfectly he has the most killer track on this compilation ready for me. never give you the peace checking where you are right now, this in the meaning of the title floating you away. weird lines try to tell you something mystic while everything becomes more massive. sharp loops and thick lines have me catched in their hands and trip me from one to the other. this is the shit dudes. floated me away, mission successfully completed!
Encephalopatycis - Spiritual Experience
on yeah! its no secret that the makedonian way of production is the most psychedelic stuff for me lately and here vasko contributes one of my alltime favs of him already played in every set of mine till this gem is in my hands. he has this handy baseline carries me into his world of psychedelics in a damn proper way. tracktitle
meets the expectation here in full effect, this is a makedonian experience on its own. wilder parts forcing you to go ahead alternate with trippy sectiond you seem to stumble wondering whats going on. a story been told with beginning, middle and endpart makes this to an grown up psychedelic pearl to me. lovely!!!
Abyss Ooze - Disintegrating Serapis
Abyss Ooze is new to me, but i see that here also the Megalopsy guys are involved and they have again a really proper track to participate with. Deep growling base and many weird effects as well catchy elements building up tension here ... yeah .. the right dose of sensitive implemented percussions changing in its attitudes just a little bit have ready the atmosphere i like, .. then the break .. a bit too long but cool linked after the hit and catched me to groove this one out. Without the breakfanatism after i always try to survive, the acidic lines creeping out of it and makes this nevertheless to another playable track to me. cool!
Prisma - The Void (The Hidden Palace)
this project is supposingly the lablescrew having a really proper ending to finish this very killer disc. Its a mystic ebm-like ambient track and i take it in the meaning of the title that this shall have the job to leave you in the safed but strange surrounding of the void after this really deep and sometimes darkish psychedelic trip this fine compilation delighted me with! nice ending!
i am damn amazed about this third output by the dark prisma crew from agentine. this is real psychedelic music to be found in here. in my opinion really no bad track, some are more my taste some are not, but this is individual opinion anyway. main point is that the sound level is definitely a higher one, whats not usual in this genre, and if you see their webside where they promote this release too and have this really proper product in your hands you know these dudes make serious work and whats so damn important, they are real psychedelic freaks! deep respect from my side and please keep the great work, you can be sure of my support. http://www.darkprisma.com.ar/thevoid
thx for the music!

Interesting reviews for this one, my favotire tracks were easily the Megalopsy, Abyss Ooze and the Megalopsy & Xikwry Neyra collab. Cerebral Factory and Polyphonia were slamming tracks too, whilst the rest were good but not quite up to the level of the Megalopsy stuff in my view. Also really liked the Prisma one, I would never have expected to have enjoyed a downbeat track on a dark cd before but hey, there's a first time for everything.
All in all easily one of the best VAs thus far this year, fiending for anything Megalopsy related now. |

hello glacial, thanks for the good vibes!
about megalopsy stuff:
there is one track coming on z1p's V/A called bestiary, its a trippy long track called Alien Stretcher.
we are working on an album, hopefully it will be done by this year, but well, impossible to really say at this time.
also there will be a split with abyss ooze and pandoras box with several collaborations between argentina projects, this i think for sure this year.
also some tracks coming on several labels this will be posted in another topic soon.

i agree with glacial.
megalopsy's tracks r way above the rest. no offense the others were exelent too.
u dont have to be a musician or a critic to hear the difference.
i got to see them in guaymas mex and they're one of my favs.
