Well first things first…the album cover of this album sucks OUTRIGHT! I mean at first when I saw it at psyshop.com I dint even bother checking it out.. later I was at some other website when I saw the line up of this album which looked rather interesting and I stumbled upon the name..remote viewing..hmmm where had I seen this before..i quickly rushed back to psyshop.com and saw it and was like DAMM! Couldn’t these people come up with a better cover for their compilation..usually spun covers are pretty kickass well wonder what happened this time around…
You can have a look at this cover and decipher for yourself as to how good it is…or IS IT JUST ME???

hmm the guidelines for my review stand the same whatever I express in this thread is totally my opinion and like me everyone has his/her own right to their own opinion so If u don’t agree with my review please go ahead and write a review for this expressing your view points….
Ok here goes..
1) Soundaholix-Technofari
Gotta admit nice track name on this one..starts off very unseeingly…the first minute is completely used for slowly increasing the tempo into the track…by the middle of the 1st minute the track is into its groove and seems as tho a surprise Is about to spring out. But nothing is delivered well through into the start of the 4th minute that is where u feel there is something in this track. There is a nice sounding background tune for this track which makes it very listenable…I really like the slowdown of te pace at about the 6th minute…I find a lot of artists doin that nowdays and it really appeals to me if it comes back into action with a banger..and this one still has something to prove so it does come back pretty well and goes on till the end in that tone…not a bad track I reckon…..(7/10)
2) Shanti Vs Frequency Surfer – In The Nick Of Time
This track has a pretty good start to it….then the track starts of going on well after the first minute...it has some good noises playing in the back ground and on the front too the music is pretty nicely packed up…and then there is a pretty neat sample in the middle with a good tune playing at the back ground…I really would have loved this track if there was a full on tempo to the track after the sample finishes but the track lowers its gear and goes a step below and slows down..and then comes back into its usual shape…then that familiar noises in the back ground slow the track again only to give the track a faster meaning..in my opinion I feel a lil more should have been put into this track then it surely would have been a much much better track than it turned out to be…wouldn’t write it off….but its very disappointing when u know a track can come out better and it doesn’t…..i would give it (7/10)
3) Talamasca Vs Jerry Tsunami – Take Off Man
This track begins with a good sample and some nice noises with good playin beats…its goes at the same tempo till the middle of the 1st minute…then there is a slight increase in the tempo of the track with the beginning noises much louder..which add good flavor to the track…the track goes on the same way till the middle of the 3rd minute and then there is a sample which is pretty cool talking a lil about lsd……then comes the power..the track is shifted gear and comes out as a much more punchier packed product…a much better sounding track from here on..nice use of the beats and smart up tempo in this track..a pretty good track…..(7.5/10)
4) Hujaboy – Defractal
Very simple and sluggish start to the track here..and the noise from the background seem to take over after a while and then there is a series of fast beats to the track which add up to a pretty decent start…this track in my opinion thus far fells outta place in this compilation….then finally I thought maybe a sigh of relief when the tempo slows down and a sample comes from the back ground- but again I was disappointed coz the track doesn’t seem to really pick up there on it still in a some what sluggish mode..very disappointing I must say..coz when u hear that part u definitely feel yeah there is something coming up but doesn’t impress too much..jes feels like too little too late…not too good…(5/10)
5) Melicia – Kinouw
Very very lovely start to the track with a females voice mellowing the atmosphere and then BAM fast tempos taking on from there..very very good start…and the sample plays repeteadly over and u keep asking for more…coz everytime the sample is over u feel the tempo has gone up…the track goes on at its own pace.. and this goes on with nice sounds coming in occasionally and then at the 5th minute the girls vocals come into place again and well worked upon and then u feel it is surely gonna pick up and it sure does..this is what I was expecting in the previous track which I somehow didn’t get….and then the track goes on to end with the vocals again..but much eerier…nice one imo..(8/10)
6) Earthling Vs Chromatome And RAN – Killer Dope
This one starts off with a pretty neat sample about some sort of killer dope in New York City. pretty cool one imo…then the track starts to get into its groove and go on with a series of sounds playing in the background…the one thing that u get a feeling about this track that it is monotonous in a good way..i know that’s very weird but..i am here sitting at home..but I am trying to picture this one being played at a party and am dancing to this..once u think of it that way then u will get what am trying to say…. And towards the end the track slows down drastically and ends up….(6.5/10)
7) Zorba Vs Father And Son – Karma police
This one imo is one of my favorites full on tracks of 2005..if u have been to a party of late..its very surprising if u haven’t heard this track being played…this one starts off very well and from the word go it’s a full on masterpiece…and the noises keep on going with a nice feel to the entire track…and whenever there is a break the essence of the track is always playing in the back ground…and u can feel it coming back on sooo powerfully u wonder. Where is all the energy coming from and the track goes on full power all through and at around the 4th minute u hear a nice medley of music along with high beats per minute all making it a showstopper….and then by the middle of the 4th minute the feeling of the start is back again into the track.. but this time u have a hunch that it will be faster than before…and boy is it faaast…and then the pick up is amazing from there on…all through the track u get a feeling that its getting faster and faster….the pick of the entire cd for me…to be honest it was this track that caught my attention in the first place when I stumbled upon the track list……great track..(9.3/10)
8) Quadra – Hidden Reality
A very normal start to this track…nothing too special about the start…it takes a rewind for a second and comes back just before the 1st minute…well by the 3rd minute you are waiting to just go back and press rewind and goto the previous track.. after that rack u feel like as tho this one is a disappointment of sorts…..there is nuthin too fabulous about this track….and this time around u feel the track is just playing in vain…then u thankfully come across the part in the middle of the 5th minute which is well made and u finally don’t mind moving ur head to the track…this part from here is what makes the track nice..otherwise previous to this in the first 4 minutes.there isn’t too much to cherish…well now since my head is still moving I give this one…(6.5/10)
9) GMS Vs Wrecked Machines – Low Tech
Well well what have we here…am pretty sure this one is heard by many of you people out there….this one begins totally to my liking the intro is really spectacular in my opinion…and then there is the lashing of the beats…one thing very noticeable about this track is the occasional noises that keep arising outta no where which add up really well into the track..and by the 2nd minute u feel like this one is gonna surely impress…and towards the 3rd minute the tempo lashes down to come up much much stronger..ohhh do I love those bangs…and then the intro part is repeated again...which imo is really really cool…jes like the one in 3rd dimension…and it goes on pretty well..and at the 5th minute u feel like there is surely gonna be a surge of power with a kind of sample comin up and it does come out…a very nice track imo…(8/10)
Well overall I would say..this one is neither as bad as it looks(through the cover) nor as good as it looks(coz of the lineup of artists) with the exception of 2-3 tracks the rest are just average…not all that great…but this is one thing I always find while reviewing cds is that while reviewing u are paying a much closer attention to every detail in the track I seem to feel that if some of the tracks on this CD were worked upon a little more they all would be such great tracks….the entire cd has potential for each one of them being master pieces but then there is something missing somewhere..wonder where that is…
All in all I wouldn’t term it as a must have would rate it pretty decently. but if u want to show off about full on psy in front of your buddies who don’t listen to psy then u can give them a dose of the 7th track..whoopa……
The rating I would give the entire cd would be a 7.5…damm it took me 20 minutes to decide whether It should be 7 or 7.5..but then all the tracks aren’t that bad…..
My favourites..well if u haven’t yet guessed track 7 and 9
and yea almost forgot...the animatrix video is a good add on...somethin too look forward to in the cd...i kinda like the animatrix track...nope dont get me wrong..its only animatrix.. the other tracks made my the gms crew like the ones for gladiator or shrek etc etc they pretty much SUCK! sorry but thats the truth!

nice review although i dont agree with you on many of the tracks... i found the 1st track alot of fun - its has a good intro typical to soundoholix build. the samples and atmosphere are very good too... good dancefloor filler. the shanti track is awesome - shanti seems to make a simple bassline work magic! the track is simple but effective and gives me the feeling of summer festivals really good vibes from it everytime i hear it - only thing - its so short!! maybe 1 or 2 minutes more would have been perfect... otherwise its a flawless track in terms of production.. borderline cheese but not.
unlike you shaqattack - i really like hujaboy's defractal - i think its the 2nd best track here after shanti. those dubby percussions on the offbeat seem to get me each time and that bassline/kick combo is "straight to the head". very aggressive track, maybe thats why you thought it was out of place, but most of hujaboy's music has a dark aggressive edge to it. in terms of production - its a step above his album release... (not counting the recent ones individual tracks, since they are all now being released)
the rest of the cd dissapointed me greatly.... i rather not comment on it...
good idea to make that video extra - i appreciate labels who try to put more then just tracks.

hey..
well firstly yea the shanti track is really really short..well in some way i will have to agree with u about the hujaboy track...
the thing was this compilation gives u somewhat a full on feeling and in a way hujaboys track kinda stands out..and once ur in a mood listening to fast full on tracks...a powerful dark track somehow doesnt fit the bill..no?...
hehe i am really suprised that u dont like the zorba track...well again...choices are different and i totally respect that...glad we have a different perspective for people to see and decide for themselves out here...
yea..labels coming out with videos is kinda cool....
and surrender u dint answer the all important question..
Hows the album cover..??????

I completly agree on this one. For me the shanti track is the best one on the compilation. It's a really neat combination of styles, instead of using your everyday full on bassline they put a funky house one and it works perfectly This one is gonna be a festival hit for sure

like the Hujaboy track a lot - actually, I like most recent Huja tracks - really well done and not your average run-of-the-mill full-on that occupies 95% of all compilations, including this one.
