Kuro : Manley
Qlap : Went Mental In Mexico
Solar Fields : Deep Flesh
Tegma : Tabla
Codex : A State Of Flux
Cosmo Chaos : Ghost Inside Wired
Etnoscope : Das Fug
Self Flush : 432.1
Analog Pussy : Arabia Electrica

First off I have to say that this has to be the ugliest CD cover ever. That tacky yellow- uhhh! But who care, what's inside is what really counts here. I'm not the greatest reviewer in the world, I basically write whatever I'm thinking while I'm listening to the track. So here's a trip into my sick, demented mind.

1. Kuro- Manley: Dark, Evil, thrashing Tech-Trance. I'm usually not too crazy about the Techy side of trance, but I liked this track alot. Builds up very nicely until the very middle off the track and then goes off on an evil rampage. Sounds like a cat fight on acid. Scary.

2. Qlap- Went mental in Mexico: Whenever two top notch artists like Son Kite and Ticon collaborate on a track then the expectations are going to be very high. After about a minute I realized that I had heard this track at a party I was at a while back (Peter Digital party). I love when that happens. I think this track was released on vinyl before.
It's faster then most Ticon and Son Kite I have heard before, it even has some full-on elements to it. I like the furious percussions in the background, combined with the nice melodies and the tribal singing samples.
Very intresting. Real dancefloor stomper. This CD is off to a great start.

3. Solar Fields- Deep Flesh.
These guys are newbies for me, maybe someone call fill me in.
Starts off with a nice thick nightish bassline. Damn, this progressive full-on thing is really starting to catch on.
Don't really now what to say about this track, pretty standard stuff to tell you the truth. A little drum roll here, some evilness in the background there, the track explodes right on time two minutes before the end, and then it's over and I forgot all about it. On second listen, I decided that I was too harsh on these guys. It's actually a very nice track, I guess it's just hard coming after Son Kite and Ticon. It's short and straight to the point. And that explosion part is actually pretty cool.

4. Tegma- Tabla: To me this sounds just like every other Tegma track I've heard. I think it's because I just don't like their basslines. I just feel like you can just skim though the track and hear the same exact sounds at any random point. Some people eat Tegma for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so they must be doing something right. Not for me though. Skip.

5. Codex- a state of flux: Another new name for me, and I like the way this track starts. Some cool fresh sounds, nice and psychadelic. Just the way I like my minimal.
These guys are obviously trying to stand out from the crowd by doing something different. And I think they do it pretty well here. Nice track to listen to at home, it changes all the time and keeps you guessing. I'm going to remember these guys in the future. They gave my brain some nice soft scratches there.

6. Cosmo Chaos- Ghost inside Wired: Nice to see how many new names are on this CD.
Another progressive full on track here. Defiently intended to be judged on the floor and not in my cozy home. But wait! Are those GOA sounds I hear? Yeah Baby, 1996! Seriously though, this is one funky track. Reminds me of the good old days, but alot cleaner and better produced. I dig this one alot. I just wish I had a bigger stereo to enjoy it with. DJ's check it out.

7. Etnoscope- Das Fug: These guys are one of my favorite new acts of 2002. I thought they totally kicked ass on the last Digital Structures compliation. They don't waste any time at all with this number, getting straight down to business. They really like playing with those drums. After about 3 minutes of drumming they start breaking things down with some nice psychadelic effects all around you. And then boom 180 degrees. Wow. These guys are on fire. Great morning stuff here. The drums don't stop. Although they might have dragged it just a little bit too long. Regardless, I want more.

8. Self Flush- 432.1: Some more newbies here, and my expectations are skyhigh. Very long suspenseful introduction. I'm on the edge of my seat. After 3 minutes it finally starts- Smooth. These guys are in no rush whatsoever. I think it starts to lose direction in the middle but maybe I'm not concentrating hard enough. They do some oldschool breaks, with some very annoying samples throughout the track. Sounds like "Reload" at 125 BPM. They were on to something good at start, but they lost it. The track ends and I think I need to hear it again. On the second listen I understand what they were going for. This is a pretty cool track, again very different from what I am used to hearing. Could use some polishing though, maybe a remix?

9. Analog Pussy- Arabia Electria: This wouldn't be a complete psy-comp if it didn't have at least one Israeli act on it. These veterans are given the task of finishing up this very innovative CD.
Starts with a very slow psychadelic buildup. Kind of like a marching band. Another minimal track, and it starts dragging until it just suddenly stops. They come back apparently with some intresting ideas. Can I call this track minimal down-tempo? Pretty weird stuff but I'm pretty sure I like it

All in All: An excellant CD. Especially for the DJ's, but not just. Some new guys make thier debuts here, and they are very strong. I am pretty sure AP were going for something fresh and new and IMO they did that. I would appreciate if someone could tell me a little bit about this record label and the new names on the CD. If you buy it, it's money well spent.

Loved: 2,6,7.

9/10.           Both teams played hard

well nice compilation indeed a bit too strong for me at times but all in all way to go pussies!!
best tracks here for me are 2,4,7,8.
AP records is in fact ANALOG PUSSY RECORDS started and operated effectively by JINNO&GIGA.
Their main aim like ours is to promote the music and to present the good newcomers to the people and yet to hold a higher rate of production.

Excelent review apocalypse!! and unfortunately I must agree with you about the cover ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!???????????????

Analog Pussy records. So are there any other Israeli artists on here?
So many new names.

I think the reason I liked this comp so much was that it is so diverse. I mean, you can find all styles of Trance here which I think is a great for DJ's, and newcomers like Nadi (right?) said.
Do you guys agree that track #6 Cosmo Chaos could be conisdered a Goa track?           Both teams played hard

Finally the got it in Israel.
Great c.d, exactly what I was looking for.
Favourites are 1,2,3, 7 & 8.
And yes, the cover is stupid. And this yellow color on the c.d itself is blinding.
