PSYSHOP REIVIEW
---------------

This CD is an insight into the passion our artists have for their music,
...
and a preview of the following artist albums by DJ Exanimo, Treibstoff, Symphonix, Herbal Essence and Silent Sphere together with Juan Verdera aka The Muses Rapt. This sampler is rounded off by the Symphonix-Druids Rmx by S.B.K and Alexander Ligowski and 'Pocket Radio' by our Swedish friend Dag Wallin aka Human Blue. As a bonus track this compilation features a remix production of the renowned German elektro/EBMbands 'FunkerVogt'.We would like to express our explicit gratitude to the Funker Vogt crew and Gero Herrde/Spv for their unselfish support and the provision of all vocal and music samples. 'Traumatic Event' is one of the strongest tracks on the album 'Date of Expiration', released on the German label Synthetic Symphonie / SPV. When the label manager DJ Bim heard this production for the first time, he seized the moment - after ten years in trance culture with the wish to produce a remix for this song. Supported by Tim Schuldt /Detlef Funder(The four carry Nuts) and Marc Engemann(Element) the four ventured into the studio to create this remarkable revamp. This Remix is a tribute to our original Goa trance music, and will surely invoke many memories,
reminiscent of the good old days.

My Review
---------

1. Tracking - DJ MONTAGU AND DJ GOLKONDA
nice minimal track with this great vocal sample which keeps gopin on and on.....can anybody tell me where this samples from.....this track really chills you out.....nice congo type sounds around 5.30.....this a track which has changed my definition of minimal....sound sooo sweet and yet its one of the most trippy tracks ive heard in this category

2. Pipeline - TREIBSTOFF
on similar atmospheric lines as track 1....the track has some gloomy but at the same time uplifting synths .....with a very nice bassline....robotic short samples.....great breaks.....but only drawback is that the synths have been a little overused.....nice dreamy atmospheres after about 3.30mins......this track gradually build up from like 0 to 100....i hear like new synths every minute.....great track.....

3. Druids (ligowski rmx) - SYMPHONIX
the change from track 2 to this track is kinda abrupt.....this track has a slighty darkish atmosphere.....nice spacy synths and fxs......a little clubby feel to this track is very evident....sounds a little like dream house.....best thing about this track is that the from the production view the breaks are really clean.....wierd vocal smaple in some language i cant understand......

4. Pocket Radio - HUMAN BLUE
again a darkish atmosphere in the begining which changes gradually to a nice morning tune.....i really like the bass on this track.....and these wierd echoin synths which sound to me like some wierd alien voice (maybe iam trippin too much).....this is the only track that i can sjip on thsi cd.....average.....some tribalish hits are also present after about 5mins

5. Druids (s.b.k. rmx) - SYMPHONIX
nice mix of track 3......i found this track in lines of a very clubby or housy atmosphere and synths.....thats all for this one.....

6. Aliens coming! - DJ EXANIMO
aaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhhh this is like my favourite track form thsi cd......rolling bass....killer indeed.....this aprticular synth amde me check my cell phone again and again till i relised it was in the track itself.....nice......"aliens are comming".........love the synths in this tarck really uplifting.....this is one of the most original sounding tracks ive heard ina long time......

7. Fiesta - SILENT SPHERE VS. MUSES RAPT
excellent track....this is one of fastest (or atleats it seems to be) tracks i hear in this compilation......slient sphere at their best.....the synths in thsi tarck are really melodic and morning ones.....great production......a real dancefloor smasher.....even this tarck sounds a little trance (regular) like .....but i really dig this track.......

8. Traumatic Event (dj bim rmx) - FUNKER VOGT
somebosy gimme some info on this artist......whatever dj bim has really mixed this tarck well....though ive not heard the original....the synths in this track have soooo much melody in them it makes me wanna cry.....the fxs are soooo spacy and trippy.....all i can say this track is sweeetttt.....u can just close ur eyes and have a time travel with this tarck....the piano sounds are really great.....total morning shasher....would love to hear this tarck during sunrise.....

9. Instinct - SYMPHONIX
i really cant understand if this track could be called psychedelic trance....but whatever its great music.....sound totally house like to me.....but this is the kinda track which would really chill u out......again a massive morning track with such beautiful (trust me thats exactly what i can be described as) synths and melody.....nice way to end the journey.....

-------------------------------------
finally i would rate this a one of the best minimal\morning compilations of 2003......10\10 from me atleast......please buy this compilation ist one of the most different music ive ever heard being in the psytance scene.....lost of old skool goa influence....a muct buy....

hey there psyk, read your review the day it came out but had no time to post (still dont, but that's our secret k?)

i have all the medium stuff and really like these comps that dj bim has put together.
i think passion is actually my favorite of the group and my favorite track on here is the silentsphere/muses rapt one.

this stuff sounds to me like the old eye Q records stuff that i got into b4 psy. in fact i mix the old and new quite a bit with this stuff. i really like the clean smooth sound.

anyways. your review was great. thatnks for stepping up and doing one. dont worry, people are reading even if they arnt posting, so give us your next one soon

Ok, this is definitely morning music – but far from the best compilations from Medium/Midjium.

Only tracks I really like are Human Blues “Pocket Radio” and the extremely catchy “Fiesta” by Silent Sphere and the legendary The Muses Rapt. But on the other hand both these tracks should be well worth the money for the compilation. Most of the other tracks I found quite shallow and/or too euro “hands-in-the-air” trancy.
