Beats & Pieces are very happy to present the first compilation in the Chilly Peppers series. Chilly Peppers vol. 1 offers a great blend of relaxed beats with psychedelic flavours and swaying dubby moves. We present you with a collection of tracks that tell a story individually and collectively in a relaxed atmosphere, yet one that can still move you physically and emotionally. The experienced hands of DJ Shahar weaved the journey with the help of established artists such as Bluetech, Subterfuge (new project from Seb Taylor, aka Kaya Project/Angel Tears/Hibernation), Capsula, Anahata, Eastern Sprit, Tor.ma in Dub, Agalactia & Altair. You'll also be able to hear fresh sounds from some new promising names as: Lauge & Baba Gnohm, Anro, Dumping Factor & Sonic Logic. Don't miss out on some Chillout with spice!

Bought the Agalactia track, nothing groundbreaking, just really well done top-shelf psychill,... which is getting harder to find these days. Really hoping for a full length album from this artist soon... it's been promised for years!
As with all the previous Beats & Pieces releases, the rest of this compilation is way too 'easy-listening' cafe-del-mar style for my tastes. sorry guys.
So is Beats & Pieces all the music that didnt make the cut for Aleph Zero?
Hopefully AZ can go back to releasing the deeper, more IDM infused music then?

Hi Reece,
There will be an Agalactia release in Beats & Pieces later this year. Not really an album, but more a singles collection. For the real debut album you'll have to wait some more time, as the guy is now mainly involved with playing Irish flute for a famous Israeli Irish music band (Ktifa Sh'hora - Black Velvet). He's a damn good flute player. There is a brand new Agalactia remix on the upcoming Krusseldorf EP we will release soon. Agalactia also plays flute on the track Techno Hillbilly Hoedown on the new Outersect album.
Sorry you found this too easy listening. It's certainly not Cafe del Mar. This is just good psychill, we feel, and that is what we try to release on Beats & Pieces mainly. Hope you like the next Chilly Peppers better. It will be a little deeper.
There's no connection between the two labels apart from the fact that DJ Shahar is involved in both. The musical direction and vision are quite different.
Anyway, thanks for the support!
