1. Lost at sea (vocal mix) – The Egg
2. Humanise - Contraband
3. Brasil - Contraband
4. Sapphire eyes - Tristan
5. Halycon daze – Esion Jim
6. Never ending – Esion Jim
7. Easy does it – Highpersonic Whomen
8. Chaine a chaine - Gaudi
9. Joyful wonder - OTT
10. Spacebaby (seiberg and witten mix) - Gargoyles
11. Need to know (bushmen freefall mix) – Hierophant

I really do not understand how this wasn’t reviewed up till now.
Backroom Beats 2 – a sub label of Twisted Rec are back with their second compilation after releasing their first one 2 years ago.
Unlike the Twisted releases that are characterized by very psychedelic sounds, Backroom Beats releases (up till now) are more lounge orientated.
This excellent compilation composed by brilliant artists, some of them are quite well known like Tristan, Highpersonic Whomen and OTT – talented artists that show you they excel in any music field they go.
Many jazz sounds can be heard over the tracks, and also in some parts saxophone - which gives a nostalgic floating effect. Just like the first compilation, the c.d starts with more rapid beats and little by little becomes more and more atmospheric and downbeat.
If you’re looking for a chill out c.d that is not trance and yet not cheesy or boring – this is it!

To sum it up, a very good compilation, less innovative than its previous, but still doesn’t fail from my high standards.
Favorite tracks:
# 2(!!!) – every sound just comes at the right place, the baby’s voice fits amazingly
# 4 – Didn’t know Tristan could make such beautiful chill out and not psychedelic
#7 – Although this tune is familiar to me from quite a long time ago
#9 – Well, do I really need to elaborate on OTT’s music?

Well well weeeeeell.......

I didn't buy this cd yet, but I will. It's just that the "Lounge" orientation just reduced my enthusiasm.... As U said it well, the first one was so "special" (highly recommended in my website).

That's why this Cd falled down in my wishlist ranks... to the 'detriment' of releases like 'Talisman' (InterChill), "ElektrOriental Delight" (Ultra Vista) that seems to be more in my vibratiOns...

Anyways I have the strong intention to buy this BackroOm Beats 2, and I'll review it at time.

Just one thing maybe offtopic : pleeease stop going 'Lounge' : there are already TONS of release in this style (Non 'Psychedelic' Labels) and I think that U are then loosing your own personality !!

P.S. nice review Girl !
Cheers

Yeah, 1, 9 & 10 are my favourites....... I dunno about "stop going lounge" that sounds a bit silly to me why don't you just let them keep doing what they want as long as the sounds coming out are nice & they are!!!!!!! Sure there are lots of lounge labels around but I think this is lounge with a psychdelic influence not very "psychdelic" but influenced nonetheless which cannot be said about these other lounge labels. Tristan track is good too. Yes. Nice one for the lounfge room
