01. Malkaviam - Premonicion
This track seems to set the tone nice for the beginning of the va. Very atmospheric introduction, pretty good length of ambience before a very nice driving kick and bass roll through. Super nice pads and leads spiraling around the sonic landscapes while smooth melodic atmospheres roll around in the background creating quite the psychedelic soup. Very driving sound, as the bass rolls deeper, with super triply pads that ascend and decent at the same time. Very nice percussive elements throughout the song also. This is a very moody track, deep, twisted, and highly dandy. A++ to Frank on an amazing track to open this experience.
02. Yara - Magic Mirror
She always delivers the proper twisted atmospheric shamanic ritual sound, and this tracks intro is proof that this will be another temple twister. When the kick and bass drop, you get this sensation of OOOOOOOH, very serious, very to the point in raw power and aggression. Very interesting dizzy pads and synths pan around the soundfield, along with some super intense atmospheres that sort of breathe. This track is very twisted. Amazing vocal work all throughout the track, a sense of mysticism to this one. Reminds me of halloween for sure! This track is very danceable. Savi, this track is bad ass!! It has a very unsettling vibe all throughout. Guaranteed to bring something up internally, in my opinion if you are dealing with any sort of issues energetically! Hold on tight! A++
03 Chromatic - Different Notes
Amazing intro to this one. Very triply!! The baseline and kick are very twisted, the pads relentless, the atmospheres almost overwhelming. This track is straight up NASTY. This track is super intense, all over the place energetically. Kind of uncomfortable overall, i love it! Technically everything is super rich, and on point, and this may be one of my favorites on the VA. This is a twisted trip from beginning to end. Buckle up!! A++ I am very interested in hearing more from this artist!
04 Audiodidakt - The Dawn Might Come
This project is one of my personal favorites, so i'm very excited to get to give my opinion on this music. This style is very very refreshing. Music made for the forest. Super sonic 3 dimensional landscapes and atmospheres can really send you into a visual frenzy. The mood is very intense for this one as well. This is sort of a theme with this compilation i'm gathering. Altered States for sure, if those states are to remain completely twisted, i believe that has what has manifested. Only 4 tracks in to this compilation and every single track is absolutely brilliant. A++ to audiodidakt for another bomb!
05 Silent Horror - Grrr
I just had the pleasure to review Jigar's album and i enjoyed it very much. This track is no different in the wackiness than what has just unleashed on his album. It gets straight to the point with a menacing baseline and really tripped out leads, with some ridiculous atmosphere that really cuts through the mix. Very dancey tune as well with nice percussive elements and squeaky pads that really give you something to carry through the trance. You achieve a full power state of trance by about 3 minutes in to the track, and i find that you will lose yourself in the sonic state of bliss. Nice work Jigar! A+
06 Xikwri Neyrra - Adding Data
Classic Xikwri sound in this track. Patented kick and bass that we have all grown to adore over the years. The track title says it all. It's like a broken computer trying to send and receive data through puddles of LSD…but it's wet and trippy so everything that comes through is completely melted and twisted. Something like that! The track progresses in intensity as it builds into digital carnage. This is the kind of track that will make you feel uneasy and dizzy all at once! A+
07 Kailash - Cryptical Helix
Now the compiler of this VA, Kailash. This is one of my favorites on this VA. The kick and bass have a very wooden foresty vibe, kind of to the tune of terminators older style that really got me. Everything is so whimsical and magical sounding. Very emotional track. The kick/bass edits are super fun, and all the elements dynamically are spot on. If you are looking to really go in to a trance, this is one of the tracks i would recommend to play. Really lose yourself within all of the pads and atmospheres and the dreamy baselines that keep changing pretty rapidly through the track. Very nice work my friend! This track will make you feel amazing by the end of it, wishing that it was a 20 minute track! A++
08 Fatal Discord - Genesis
Masa, is one of the most innovative Japanese artists out right now, and this track is PROOF! Really intense sound this guy has always created, and it only seems to get better. He just released an album and this track surprisingly is a beast all of it's own!! Really intense vibe all throughout this track. Very percussive and precise. Lots of edits and tricks and fun elements to keep you going and going all the way. So much fun. When the real kick and bass drop everybody in the crowd will go NUTS. I highly recommend this one be tested on every dancefloor worldwide! Thank you masa for this amazing high energy track! A++
09 Dark Whisper - I'm a definition of Toxic
Manu is one of a kind. One of goa gil's favorite artists, this track hit the devine dozen long ago before it was picked for this VA. Everything in this track is totally dope. Super triply, funny, epic song with lots of ridiculous quirky breaks and things to make you smile, and forget how absolutely intense it is until WHAM full on braingasm. Super high energy, super powerful track by Dark Whisper. One of my favorite tracks period! A++ Thanks Manu!
10 Kasatka - Cybertron
All i have to say is….WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! Kasatka NEVER disappoints with his signature sound that really is hard to put in to words. This guy really knows how to get dancefloors tuned in proper! This track is a BEAST. Hands down. Favorite track of the VA.
SUMMARY
Congrats to Alice-D for this monster Release. You really manifested the concept of Altered States, as now i'm left feeling highly intoxicated off these amazing sonic monsterpieces. Thank you so much for the opportunity to review this release!
