softsynths donīt sound bad but if i listen to my sonogs with softsynths and listen songs from comercial artists i hear a very big difference.

Don't want to start up the hardware vs. software thing again... (both are just as good in their ways - no arguing)
but do you actually think commercial artists use only hardware...?

Naah... skillfull use of software as well
Radi6406... if you Just tweak more and more you'll hear that softsynths can sound JUST as good

I know a very good synth that sound great and you have many tweaking options, the kamafx, but you canīt save presets and that is worse

sure you can. it doesn't work as straightforward as in most other vst instruments, but it is possible by using its own patch manager.           http://myspace.com/voxproject

i totally agree.. i beliebe Rinkadink is using only 100% software. and his soudn is amazing.

back to topic. I tried v-station.. its got not bad bass and the leads i agree do sound a bit cheezy           https://www.djjeto.com

for leads i love ishiiro toda's synth1, korg EA-1, waldorf pulse, delay lama (u may laugh now...), propellerheads rebirth rb338, superwave P8 (now THAT'S a cheezy synth if ever there was one... But if u need a stereotypical trance sound in less then 30seconds this is ur synth), roland juno-60, native instruments B4 (well, it produces great leads that can't be used in psytrance )

then there are the nord lead3 (not the 2, there is a huge difference...), the access virus (although it's a little overused), elektron monomachine (my personal favorite), etcetera etcetera...

Do you own any of that hardware? If i had money for the Monomachine, it would be the next to join my circus also Rack3 is in sight for sure, however also freaking expensive... ! As for b4 i have used it in about 85% of my projects one way or the other, mainly for leads.

I guess these assumptions about what can be used for psytrance is correct untill proven wrong; so that is what we should do: Use the other stuff, sound new =)

Anyways, beside the fact that V-Station is a bit "bumpy" and not so suitable for bass (what am i saying, i did that once!), i still dig it as a lead synth! Also as owner of a K-Station, i have found the little weird places inside these machines to contain extreme depth and soul. Tweak it the right way, and you will at some point be satisfied, i believe!

Do you note that the V-Station is one of the best lead synths, too? The grat think about the V-Station is that the synth is not hard like many other synths and if itīs not hard it sounds more like real psytrance music. With LFOīs the V-station can become a great lead and bass plugin.

Tell your opinion and tell about other vst synths that you use for lead creating.

Hi radi6404. I have the V-Station native VST version which I think sounds good for providing that simple deep bass end to your bass sounds or for dreamy pads/spaced out lead sounds, although I think these none-bass sounds rely a lot on the V-Station's effects. You can get some wierd sounds out of it! I too was looking at getting the Powercore version (just bought a secondhand original Powercore PCI with the Virus unlimited license included). The problem for me was that the Powercore version uses up one DSP for each instance of V-Station that you load - it is not multitimbral - just one instrument per DSP. What a waste of resources! The Powercore Virus allows 4 instruments per DSP. The only additional benefits I can see is that the Powercore V-Station offers extra filters compared to the native VST version. I didn't see anyone mentioning that the Powercore version sounded any better either - check out http://www.powercore.noheaven.com/ for more info (I did a search under "vstation").
