Do you note that the V-Station is one of the best lead synths, too? The grat think about the V-Station is that the synth is not hard like many other synths and if itīs not hard it sounds more like real psytrance music. With LFOīs the V-station can become a great lead and bass plugin.
Tell your opinion and tell about other vst synths that you use for lead creating. |

access virus, nordlead, vanguard, albino, are the synths i use most often, not only for leads though. I also just used the v station on my last track, automating the pitch and it sounds good to me.
One thing that i am super curious about is if there is any difference in sounds quality between the v station VSTI and the v station for powercore, they look exactly the same but i have only heard the vsti version. I suspect they use same algorythms, and are identicle other than that the powercore version doesnt use CPU; but i could be wrong; it wouldnt be the first time |

dunno, i tried using vstation for bass, and i found it is too much out of control - it overwhelms the mix too easily, and if it doesn't, it sounds rather weak or undefined. as for leads - it can be good for epic trance fat leads but i don't like it very much. i prefer minimonsta, discovery, synth1, z3ta and albino. and muon tau 2 for bass, of course

I think the V-Station synth is excellent for german/dutch club sounds (fat leads, bass and string), but it lacks for a powerful modulation matrix in order to make more complicated sounds. (Nordlead 1 & 2 have a simple architecture and they were abused a lot in psy, though...)
Albino has surprised me with your sounds (see the Albino Psy Cosmosis Patches). You should check it.
Still other synths: NI Pro53, FM7 and Z3Ta+ (with Virus MOD - wow!) |

no me gusta la v-station!! crappy cheezy sound... not my style.... Albino is the king (i think), I use it for everything (exept kick and percusion).. once you know the albino you can get every sound you ever wanted out of it!! (If albino was a girl, I would marry here... |

sorry to disagree. v station is my favorite vst for bass, you can get any kind of bass from it, 1 note 2 notes or 3 notes sounding perfectly. if you want PM me and iīll send you some of my own vstation bass presets. i think vsation for bass garantees you a much wider variety than muon TAU that always has the same sound, you can tweak and tweak but the sonority is always the same and easyly recognizible as tons of artists use it.

If you setup the filters right that donīt sound cheesy. It sounds better like many freeware plugins like synth1 or monolisa. |

thank you, but i have no need for v station presets.
i don't use tau2 often, just from time to time. most of the time i use albino, blue or some other synth - there are tons of synths which can make good bass.

i think that as more often i change the vsts for bass the music is more interesting.. coz if u use the same vst u make the same bass sound maybe a little different... |

for leads i love ishiiro toda's synth1, korg EA-1, waldorf pulse, delay lama (u may laugh now...), propellerheads rebirth rb338, superwave P8 (now THAT'S a cheezy synth if ever there was one... But if u need a stereotypical trance sound in less then 30seconds this is ur synth), roland juno-60, native instruments B4 (well, it produces great leads that can't be used in psytrance )
then there are the nord lead3 (not the 2, there is a huge difference...), the access virus (although it's a little overused), elektron monomachine (my personal favorite), etcetera etcetera... |

I use the v station but if i hear the audiorealysm bassline i must say that sounds most original.
@fregle, is the proppelerhead rebirth rb338 a vst synth or what? Because if is i will download it. do you really donīt know good plugins that donīt sound like softsynths? softsynths donīt sound bad but if i listen to my sonogs with softsynths and listen songs from comercial artists i hear a very big difference. |
