Va- New Order
Compiled by Ace Ventura
Hommega CD51
2006
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Astrix – Just on time
Avi Shmailov, the father of full on, gives a shot here on prog side. There is one important thing here and it's the long intro of this track. Imho the first track of every comp should have a long opening, to lead the listeners into the atmosphere. About the track itself; well not my favorite on the comp, its sounds just like regular full on from the 3rd minute - but on 130 bpm. It has no prog spirit. It's like the post 2nd album track by Astrix which are too simple. Astrix has the ability to create good music on relatively low bpms - but this track isn’t one of them. Remember the old classic with Domestic - pure energy? I still love to listen to it sometimes. And don't say its club track -i see at as progg.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

2.FREq – The Moon and the Earth

Freq released earlier this year his 2nd album which has 3 amazing tracks and I don't
Know why this one isn't there but never mind:
Hold you seat because this is the wildest ride on the comp. The name FREq gives to every comp a boost. Aran is the leading prog artist and has the most powerful music on earth (and the moon).
How the hell he does it every time??? Every track by him is unbelievable. This one is massive monster. I can't find the right words to describe what is going on inside of me when I'm listening to it, maybe huge euphoria, with strong emotional storm. This track will create many fields of smiles
around the earth.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
3. Earsugar – stay
This is Nicola Capobianco's (Liquid soul) Side project, together with Martin Knecht
Nice one with full on bass line, regular until the 4:00 minute and than the deep melody kicks in. overall just like in the 1st track it's full- on on low bpm only sounds sbetter.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

4. Vibrasphere – Thermal Twist

There is something rare going on here; I'm talking about the pad which opens the track. I haven't heard such a beautiful pad since the one in infected mushroom – wider.
Amazing track with sunrise atmosphere. Gr8 melodies - will be perfect to open every morning in any party. This is one of the best Vibraspheres's tracks. But here comes the big but:
To many of their tracks have the same bass line. They do not use enough variety and they should. That’s why I had hard time listening to their album. Almost all the tracks are on the same line. The bass line of this track was used to many times by them and that’s the only bad point I have to say about this track.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
5. X - noiZe – let yourself go (Ticon remix)
This track is really bad one; makes me wanna skip to the next. I have no problem with lyrics on the track, as long as the music is good and they are not cheesy. In this case the music is bad and the lyrics are cheesy so it's not my taste, I did not like the original, and the remix by Ticon doesn't improves it. First time I hear something that I do not like by Ticon. The accords are corny; it's something that I heard to much times b4. This is the weak like of the comp.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

6. Ace Ventura and Intelabeam – the jhon

This one took my more than one time to listen in order to understand. Groovy one. with sticky (in a good way) bass line. It has also nice melodic part.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
7. Emok and NDSA - Harbor candy
Couple of years ago, in Sweden the police basted every trance party so Ticon decided to start a new electro/house side project - New Disco Science Alliance.
The track starts with calm pad and has very good parts. One of the best collabs (with emok) I hard this year.
I love the crying T-rax baby sound rising
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

8. D – Nox & Beckers – naked punch

From the producers of 'memory cell' and the big hit 'Jet Lag Slave' here comes another funky housey tune. Gr8 work! In many of their tracks they use alla Megason cute sounds. I like it. It will be perfect as a party opener in a club.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
9. Wrecked Machines and V.O.R - subtle flavor
Nice electro work ends this gr8 comp. WM and V.O.R from brazil created here a nice atmosphere. I expected it to be bad when I saw the cover but it turned to be gr8.
=================================
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
=================================

Overall:
Good step for hommega into the progressive side. Its not the first time, remember the classic? Which was compiled by Isratrance General chief of stuff - shachar - Amalgamated Amalgamation.

Yoni did here a good job with the flow of the comp, it starts with the right track and ends with the right track with the bpm drop in between.
I do not like the cover. But never mind.

Apsolutely, one of THE BEST Progressive compilation Cd's I've bought this year!

Astrix? Progressive? This I had to hear!
Avi's just amazing as a progressive producer.... I'm still in shock!
Let's hope this is a whole new direction for him.

FREq... what can I say? The man's a genius, plain & simple!
To me, everything he produces turns to gold!

Earsugar! Now this track "Stay" is my favorite of them all, it's so beautifully
produced, it brings euphoric tears to my eyes! I just can't stop listening to it.

Vibrasphere.... bliss, pure bliss!
A fantasic track for out door parties and festivals!

X-Noise (Ticon Rmx)... I wasn't crazy about the vocals, but the track
itself is awesome! Great melodies and bassline.
I'll have to give this track a few more listens and let it really sink in.

Ace Ventura & Intelabeam! I love this track "The Jhon", it's so catchy and
grabs you right away. Keeps my head, hands and feet movin'!
Fab!!

Emok Vs. NDSA... I'm not one who likes a lot of repetitive voice samples
but this one's got the certain "something" that just keeps you glued to it!
Very funky and uplifting. Again, great melodies and bassline... dance floor
success!

D-Nox & Beckers... Wow! Great electro feel to this one.
Funky-ass bassline and rythym, just makes ya wanna dance!

Wrecked Machines Ft. V.O.R... I don't know who V.O.R is but
this track has to be in my top 10 for collaborations with W.M!
Awesome track to finish off this gem album!

Favs: 1,2,3,4,6, & 7

9/10!! No question!

I'm not great at describing sounds, layers, synths... blah, blah, blah...
I can however tell you what I feel when I hear this Cd.
Pure Euphoria!

Thanks Yoni & HOMmega!
I'm a happy camper!

I guess this is my turn to drop some comments for Hommega hottest compilation so far...
The man who worked hard for make this dream come true is Mr. Yoni Oshrat, which compiled nine amazing tracks by his cool taste of music...the credit is also should go for Eyal and all Hommega crew for release a full cd with progressive music...way to go guys !

1. Astrix – Just on time
The king of the Israeli full on is change direction for this comp and present a well done progressive tune with his unique touch. "Just on time" is sound like a slow move full on, which built perfectly and let all Astrix fans (including me) to taste something a bit different than usual...almost ten minutes of pure pleasure. Great work Avi !!!

2. Freq – The Moon and the Earth
The second track is come from the proggy master - MR. Freq. "The Moon and the Earth" is melodic-groovy tune on down tempo, but the vibes are very high here. The brake which starts on 02:30 is definitely one of the most emotionaly brakes around - just amazing...what a genius. I love you Freq !

3. Earsugar – Stay
Just like the project name, Martin & Capo's music is sweet as a sugar. After a calm introduction of a bit more than one minute, I found my self scream WOW in the house like a crazy when a stretched smile is on my face...simply a master-piece. A dance floor prog by the lovely European style and additions of vocals and effects from time to time...and the melody on 04:00 - where the hell it's came from ?! beautifull atmospheric playing, which leave me speech-less.

4. Vibrasphere – Thermal Twist
One of my favorite projects is also take part on this cd. "Thermal Twist" is full of emotions and feelings, which expressed by deep melodies and super-happy structure. This two guys are never boring me...every time they come with powerfull track, which awake all the listeners for a smiley-diging . People - before the main brake (03:35), please bring with u a tissue paper for dry all the tears from your eyes, cause this upcoming minute will make you cry like a baby with all this sensitivity...and when the brake is end the kick is just kicking in your mind...be carefull !!! the best track here for sure.

5. X-noiZe – Let yourself go (Ticon RMX)
When a honorable project such as Ticon is remixing an excellent full on track, the result is must be intersting. Here we get a clubby proggy track including the vocals from the original track and Ticon's stirring style. Even though, this track is more for girls ass-shaking if u ask me, but the whole concept is very nice and inimitable.

6. Ace Ventura and Intelabeam – The Jhon
Yoni together with Intelabeam are next to come. The Israeli progressive is sound soooo good ! great ideas and smart process of building are the main issue here. The kick is fat and groovy, the kind of make a dust-storm in the dance floor. Two minutes before the end, the melodic side of this track is going out and close the tune with a taste for more. Very nice cooperation !

7. Emok and NDSA - Harbor candy
Emok (one of the owners of Iboga) is collaborating with Ticon's side project for produce the "Harbor candy" tune. This one is deeper and melodic with more electro influences..together with cheezy vocals and sexy baseline, the track is develops for new diresctions and grab the listener with him. When I say an "electronic-music", this is exactly the kind of music I play in my mind. One more indulgence tune...

8. D–Nox & Beckers – Naked punch
The lovely dou are back with an uplifting tune, full of happy elements and easy flow. "Naked punch" is suitable for home-listening on the middle of the day...very relaxing and comfortable.

9. Wrecked Machines and V.O.R - Subtle flavor
One more full onish project is want to show us his groovy side of production, and again the final material is delicious. A very good choice for ending this cd, becasue it has the atmosphere of the moment after the serious chaos...just go with the flow .

Been listening to this comp nonstop for a while now, so here is my review.(first one btw so plz do comment)

01. Astrix - Just In Time
Opening this comp is well-known israeli music producer Astrix, taking a shot at rather slow proggy (as opposed to his usual, more full-on oriented style)
though i appreciate the effort, this track sounds to artificial for me, simply emotionless work.

02. FREq - The Moon & The Earth
The second track here, Produced by the highly acclaimed FREq, is a true gem-not only in this comp, but also in everything that has been going on in this genere recently. it has everything:superb production, original ideas, dancefloor potential, and a distinct pleasent atmosphere allover. Amazing!

03. Earsugar - Stay
Up next are the Earsugar duo with my personal favorite track. though maybe not as original as the previous track, this work is highly emotional & maintains a mild vibe throughout the entire journy. makes me euphoric... another great piece of work!

04. Vibrasphere - Thermal Twist
Vibrasphere's work is always a pleasure. their music comes for a deep connection to nature and takes me to remote places. this track is no exeption- a very stormy & well produced tune(especially everything that happens from 4:00) that definitely stands up to the standarts "Archipelago" has marked.

05. X-noiZe – Let Yourself Go (Ticon remix)
Having seen this track working the T.A.Z festival dancefloor, i acknowledge its tremendous potential. still, i absolutely dislike it. after proving to the world that they are capable of producing outstanding music with "Zero Six After", this childish work sounds to me more like a cynical gesture to the israeli trance seen. next please.

06. Ace Ventura & Intelabeam – The Jhon
An intresting collaboration here, between the man himself(Ace Ventura) and Intelabeam-a name that is new to me. this is hands-down, the most original piece of work here-sounds to me like nothing i've ever heard, and in a bloody good way!. took me quite some listens to really grasp what's going on in here, and i'm happy to say it is yet another favorite here. looking forward to here more from these guys.

7. Emok Vs. NDSA - Harbour Candy
I don't really have much to say about this one. i'll just say i like it. refreshing and
intense, but perhaps not as deep as one would expect.

08. D–Nox & Beckers – Naked Punch
This track, by no other than the dynamic duo D-Nox & Beckers is a luvly suprise to me. compared to their usual "groovy & simple" work, this is quite an intresting tune wich i belive to be a far better use of their potential. extra credit for the intro-sweeet sounds.

09. Wrecked Machines feat. V.O.R - Subtle Flavour
Once again, an intresting collaboration.
so who do we have here? respected full-on producer Wrecked Machines and some dude named Marcello Vor-also a new name to me.
and what do we have here? a nice laidbak minimal track with a futuristic feel and intresting use of sounds. me like!

Bottom Line
Yoni certainly did a great job compiling these tracks together, and though i don't like the 5th track i do belive it is essential for a comp such as this, wich seeks to cover a wide range of styles under the progressive genre. the only track i would have left out is the 1st one, wich in my oponion, is plain boring. i don't like giving numbers to art so i will conclude this review in one phrase:
A solid compilation with almost no weak points & many new ideas, that keeps me waiting for more

For me, definitly the best progressif compilation of the year. Quality= Top notch production and awesome selection of artists who represent well the best taste of progressif/electro music in the world. HOMmega rock the scene and bring a new surprise with this fresh compilation.

my top 3:

1- Astrix- just in time: Ok it's not pure progressif, but it s a slow track who have really good feelings for a track who have only 130 BPM. Just in time is special influenced by the high energy of full on music produced normally by Astrix. This track kick ass on the dance floor with some hypnotic effects. it s a amazing production who open well the compilation and present well the influences and the tast of the music released by HOMmega.

2- X-noise- let yourself go rmx- Ticon
Oh yeah, the first time that i listened this tracks, is by the only one dj Peter Didjital last summer. This remix is produced by one of best dynamic progressif/electro producers on the stage, with the little sampler of sound used by deedrah with classic reload. With the vocal by the singer of X-noise and after new electro arrangements since the original track, this remix is one of best remix ever. We can said that it's a real remix of a tracks produced by the swedish!

3- D-nox and Beckers - Naked punch

No to much comments because thay are the top producers for progressif/electro. The kick and the bass line is really fat, this sound is for the heavy weight with his special funky ass bass line ! For me, naked punch is in the top 3 of their best tracks produced this year by them.

Congratulations Eyal Yancovich and Ace ventura for this great compilation and collaborations, HOMmega is one of my favorite label! Good luck for the next releases! i think that this compilation is a nice introduction upto progressif music for the peoples who like only full on music. Progressif is trance to, and this king of trance is too much important in a party, after or before for sure positive full on music. By the way,after a full on night of psychedelic trance, around 10h00 and more in the morning, progressive is the best music for the stability of emotionnal feelings.

enjoy!

Better late than never, it was some months behind since I get the compilation and definitively I can say that for me at least it's my favorite progressive compilation of 2006 just for the reason that Yoni compile from Psy-Progressive until pure Electro arrows from top artists like D-Nox & Beckers, Emok vs. NSDA and the Ticon remix to the plus to hear as a first time a few progressive tunes from Astrix and Wrecked Machines and everything with top notch production so for sure has something interesting on it that you can't avoid easily and for the other hand it was the first Progressive compilation ever released on Hommega.

*My personal favorites tunes are at first the FREq track, Aran make a pure epic tune with a great floating energy for the dancefloor.

*Vibrasphere is definitively a lovely morning tune with a really happy atmospheres but in a sensative way just a perfect mix of emotions and feelings that you'll not hear in other track for sureeee.

*D-Nox & Beckers is a great electro uplifting tune with a really dance elements that you will not to stop to dance ever while you hear this tune.

Overall the compilation is a great packege with full emotions, energy, atmospheres, vibes of totally happiness of good music with top notch production in each track (Believe me the quality is guarantee and you'll not regret buying this), waiting already for the next one Yoni           Michael Jackson "Some people prefer to take life as it is without complications, some others we like to take life from the cornice of the wildest jungle"

"Stay" by Earsugar is now an instant classic for me! its amazing, definitely the best track of this man and one of the best tracks in a whole genre!
absolutely brillant production and mastering.
the sounds and the building are way ahead of many other stuff.
you can bring it together with lots of other stuff, especially house or tech house.
a track that ATMOS could have done in his best phase with the standards of today....           · the hymn of the universe · the beginning of time · the cosmic truth · the infinity of being ·

True. This and their massive "Orange" track really stands out from their non-chillout output after "Archipelago" was released.           www.ektoplazm.com/2011/panta-deus - download for free Psytrance.pl's 10th anniversary compilation featuring 100% Polish psy-music (goa, prog, dark, full-on, chillout): Artha, Sundial Aeon and many more
