V/A Intercept (Yoyo)

Tracklist :

1. Fatali – Gaya
2. Infected Mushroom – Elation Station (Beat Hackers remix)
3. Beat Hackers & Michelle Adamson – WhereThe Lights Go Out
4. Time Lock – Skylines
5. Reflex vs Side Effect – Jump
6. Oforia – High Gear
7. Echotek – Space Strecht
8. Safi Connection – I’m Next
9. Quantum - Enlightening

Fatali has simply & purely ripped off the melody of the german hardtrance anthem Lost In Love from Legend B (1994), it’s quite evident in the intro & after 4’00 , of course the guy have modified the orchestration & the way of play the theme elsewhere in the track coz would have have benn too noticeable. Shame on Fatali !

2 tracks from Beat Hackers, it’s too much happiness for me, ok their debut album was nice but the practical joke has lasted enough ; they’re doing always the same : only big squeaking & cheesy arpeggio (that’s not music guys, try to evolve a bit please) & i don’t tell you how they succed to slaughter Elation Station which was a reall nice soft tune…

It’s quite a long time Oforia tries to come-back with a hit , but it’s without real succes except i must admit The Miner (but it was more than 2 years ago). High Gear from this view is quite surprisingly nice as it seems to take this same good way, stated in The Miner, sign of a possible creative rebirth of Oforia who knows.

I’ve never been fan of Echotek , things are confirming here again.

Safi Connection & Reflex vs Side Effect give basic full on, nothing fascinating, it lacks of soul particularly in Jump, I’m Next results better & could have a place in a full on Dj mix.

According to me, the only real interesting moments are tracks from Time Lock (the best tune of Intercept , with a melody played a bit in a pizzicato way), Quantum (still softy dark flavoured) if you don’t belong to those who’re allergic to his sound (like me), Oforia only if you enjoyed The Miner.

So let’s just quickly forget this compilation …

worth to mention that although oforia has not been super active release wise in the past 2 years, i found almost each track of his to my liking:

Rolling stoned
Instant Food
Atomix
Kinetic
Free kick

always quality in my opinion. i'll skip this cd as well, but ill try to get the oforia track.
