2/4 Intelligence
After the killer full-on compilation "Force"; come the second of the four cd of this serie called Force;Intelligence;Love and Meditation,
and in japanese Chikara;Chi Se;Ai and Zen.
The first is full-on;the second progressive psycho trance;the third is uplifting melodic psycho trance and the fourth is a ethno chill-out compilation.
-1-Shiva "Good Time"
-2-Psychonaut "Moehrensaft"
-3-Wrecked Machines "1.oktobre"
-4-Panick "Ultramagnus"
-5-Drap Drop "Puzzle"
-6-Pixel "800 to 400"
-7-Kuro "Noop"
-8-Cosmo Chaos "Artificial Influences"
-9-Shamane "Maniac"
The compilation begin very good with a track psychedelic but with phat bass, off beat bass drum and voices loops, snares and hi-hat are greats. The track have really goods synthie sounds and wind samples. For the floor !!
Nice work from Jorg Kessler.
The second title come from a german band. The track have a progressive rythm ,minimal sounds some groovy tribal sounds, noisy hit hat and a good melodic synthie.Nice track for the morning.
The third track is from a brazilian guy and it's a pearl !!The track begin with a psychedelic sound ,incredible basslines and a killer rythm.
Three dimensional synthie sounds and waves
make the listener on a other planet.
Track four is from a israeli producer and is one of my favourit. It's a light full-on track with some great psychedelic dark sounds, stomp rythm.
Number five is in the same style dark ,light full on track with a rythm who make the fire on the floor.Off beat ,phat, bass lines and really good breaks.
Track six is from another israeli artist who rock the floor. The track begin with a dark sample and then the kick comes, great 303 bass lines and sounds, the bass drum change many times, and there are someindustrial sounds. At the end of the track you found a church piano.
Track seven is made by a japanese guy and begin with a industrial kick, some techno sounds, stomp rythm, noisy hi hat
and a phat bass line.
Track eight is in the same style phat techno sounds with dark synthie lines. This track is from a frech guy.
The last one, track nine begin with a sample of the french tv song "ushuaiia",then a strong rythm and a good bass comes, then a break, and it begin again with a good off beat bass lines.
My favourits are 1;3;4;5;9.

actually, i believe jorg messed up on the tracklist printed on the cd. 3 - 5 should actually be listed as:
3 - Panick
4 - Drap Drop
5 - Wrecked Machines

this is a good comp, tho.
kind of techy / proggy.
i dropped the panick at a festival here in texas over the weekend, and got good crowd reaction.

currently, i groove on 1, 3, 8, & 9.

ok here's a detailed review that i wrote for this release:

This is part two in a four disc series: the first being Force (full-on psy trance), the third Love (melodic psy trance), and the forth Meditation (ambient downtempo), with the final two still pending release. The label calls Intelligence “progressive psychedelic trance”. I think would say it sounds more like psy tech. Tempos range from 135 to 144 bpm, but over all stick to the slower side of the spectrum. The bass lines are thick, and while the leads aren’t minimal, they’re sparse and spacious enough to make good headphone music. Shiva (Jorg) starts things off well with “Good Time”, and we’re treated to a host of manipulated samples from Bill Hicks (yay!), through Human Traffic”, and into the great beyond. Is that a reggae backbeat I hear creeping in on top of that rolling bass line? I think it is, Tim. Psychonaut is up next, with the steady minimal affair of “Moehrnsaft”. At times almost tribal, this track’s grooving bass and delayed sounds will lull people into the trance. I must note here, as we move on to Panick’s “Ultramagnus”, that the track listing on the CD is incorrect. (please see above track list for the corrections.) Another good piece of headphone music here. Too thick to be called minimal or tech, I’d say it almost reminds me of the first Tristan CD. The track makes me drool with anticipation of the forthcoming Panick full length. Drap Drop clocks in next with “Puzzle”, Intelligence’s first tune over 140bpm. The tribal ambient intro is deceiving. Once the bass kicks in, this track evolves into a brilliant psy tech with great noises underscored by subtle percussion. Next, Brazil’s Wrecked Machines offer up “1.Oktobre”. I must say that after hearing some of their other work, this minimal piece is somewhat disappointing. It seems to just plod along, without too much evolution. I enjoyed the bass and over-distorted guitar samples, but the synth work just rubbed me the wrong way. Pixel’s “800 to 400” doesn’t quite measure up to previous releases either. It’s infectious in groove, but just too simplistic. The Fear and Loathing samples are cool at first, but start to grate after the constant repetition. The minimal “Noop”, performed by Kuro, is straight up techno. It doesn’t have too much to chew on. Luckily, France’s Cosmo Chaos is here to save the day with “Artificial Influences”. With thick layering and jungle-like backbeats, it’s the closest thing to full-on the comp contains. The synth work is slightly ambient, yet retains a distorted aggressive flavor. Good stuff. “Maniac” closes out the compilation, and it’s just what you’d expect from a producer named Shamane. Very ethnic and slightly ambient, it will definitely soothe you back down to Gaia. Over all, Intelligence is quite a smart comp. Sonically, it’s all over the place. Definitely worth adding to your collection.

this is a great cd. i mean it!
I'm not a progressive fan at all (rather a full-on freak), but i enjoy this cd very much!

much has been said here, so i'll be brief.
best tracks:

Panick - Ultramagnus (track is so good i'm considering buying the cd even w/o listening to it)

Shiva - Good Time (best track in this compil)

Drap Drop - Puzzle

i rate it ***** (five stars)
Full-on fans try this one!

i also would like to point out that the new cd's have a sticker with the tracklist correction.
peace

Would someone mind listing the proper track listing here. I checked the SST website & they have nothing - neither do saikosounds or psyshop. It would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
