Holographic Memory's Tracklist:

1. Crunchy Punch – Enjoy 7’51
2. The Antidote – Voodoo 6’49
3. Mexican Trance Mafia – Aquario 6’10
4. Dino – Narco Sleeping Desease 7’47
5. Etnica – Starship 202 7’43
6. Quadra – Vociferous 7’13
7. Orion – Halluweird 7’26
8. Eat Static – Race To Space 8’52
9. Alien Project – Nitro 6’46
10. Biotonic – On The Rox (GMS remix) 7’50

Crunchy Punch opens up this cd, i was naďvely thinking it would be a new comer act but not at all. Behind this name are hidden two of my worst top ever trance producer : Alien Project & Orion. The track is a typical boring crappy stuff, a pure fill’in one.

Voodoo from The Antidote, sounds interesting to me, its name says it all. Different tones used here by Serge (compared to his latest album Close Encounters), i would even tell that’s he puts more effort than usual.
The leading melodic synth is kinda vibraphone. Voodoo is a nice idea & new diversified attempt from Serge therefore he doesn’t exploited it at the maximum, indeed according to me not enough Voodoo tasty .

Mexican Trance Mafia are Mario Garza (aka Inoxia) & Daniel Gradilla from Mexico.
An ever kickin’ rythmic coppled with jerky & hammered melody is the main musical content, the tones are quite soft, nothing really brainblasting but quite pleasant.

Dino (Psaras) aka the leading member of Cydonia, comes back here with a monotonous UK clubby trance stuff.
It's dissapointing from someone like this which provided by the past such great tracks like Freakshow.

Etnica seems to encounter big difficulties escaping their old succesfull goa formula, Starship 202 is typical old school goa and resulting very puffing & dusty.

I think it’s the first time i heard about a Quadra production (Ido Liran).
That’s a good surprise, with a good floating break around 3:00, the best i’ve heard since a long time ago.
Otherwise, Vociferous is nicely energic and got some funny slightly sour sounds at the end of the break. Tones & harmonies aren’t so far from some Logic Bomb tracks by moments.

Second pure fill’in crappy shit, again Orion is involved in this one imho. Okay, some people could love it but only if you’re kinda people that doesn’t like any change and always want the same thing, having a very mechanical way of living without zero surprise.

Second good track of Holographic Memory comes from Eat Static (Merv Peppler), Race To Space explain it well by itself. Habitual raving spirit & funky madness from this artist, you can also expect some cool samples voices « On a mission – Computers – Cyclotrons – Explorer … » or « Stopping – Starting …» that directly put you in the atmosphere of a racing championship. The majot problem Mr Eat Static is how must i do to participate to your Race To space coz i would really like , tell me !

The 2 last tracks are unfortunatly, one more time pure crappy fill’in.
First one from Alien Project, typical stuff from this guy except the presence of Raja Ram playing Flute.

The Gms remix is the awfulest remix i heard this year and btw the crappiest track of 2003.
How is it possible to butchered so much a so beautifull original track like On The Rox from Biotonic, I ten million times prefer the original to the remix.

Highlights by order :8,6
Bullshits by order :10,1,9,7

I was expecting more quality from Solstice…
Mark :6/10

i agree with you about some of the tracks, but i think you were too harsh with the others.
dino's track is very nice, and imo brings a little different full on.
etnica is also a pretty good track. you can't expect from etnica their old style. this is a new version for the old track. it's pumping, it's psychedelic and it's good
i'd give this compilation 7.5/10 (except 1,7,9 all tracks are good)           REHAB is for quitters

According to your review 6/10 sounds like a big grade after what you have said for each track.

I am suprised that you dont like Orion at all,for me he is a top notch producer

Will give a listen to this compilation and come with a review soon           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

I must say i bought this compilation because of the name and cover, and got a bit disappointed... nothing special on this one.

Good tracks are 6,7, 8 and 3 isn't all that bad.

rating: ** - not worth hard-earned money

Well this one is very average.

Solstice is loosing its magic as a label for me,slowly but steadily unfortunely.

With such names on the tracklist i expected much more.

Orion and Crunchy Punch are nothing special at all,i expect more from my friend Jean Borelli, his album was a big success fortunely.

The Antidote and Dino Psaras tunes have some good moments but they cant escape from an average overall rating.

Mexican Trance Mafia tune was just a filler track.

I never liked Etnica so i didnt like Spaceship 202 also,i fancied though that goa feeling in it.

The Alien Project and Quadra tunes are very atmospheric ones, nice tunes that will work in the morning time.

The Eat Static track is by far the best on this compilation, amazing rythm and samples. These guys keep amazing me with their innovative ideas and high production quality.

Finnally the GMS remix to Bio Tonic's On The Rox is a dancefloor tune that will do its job, nice try.

I will rate this one 6/10           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!
