Just got home from work and thought I would review this one. I see a lot of names I recognize, so hopefully this will be a great ride. We have artists from Israel, France, Brazil, Mexico, Austria...It was either do this, or hit the couch for an undeserved nap.

1.Liner Roll- Echotek I have heard some very good tracks from Echotek so the bar is set kind of high. 4.5 minutes in and we really havent taken off. Just a standard bassline and a piercing string cue with a slow attack to hurt my ears. I guess this is the progressive part of it leading us into this compilation. Kinda boring if you ask me. I don't care for it. Zzzzz. Watch me play with this cup and ball! 4/10

2.Music- Dooper Doopler We start with a high tech sample and a low to medium paced bassline. A quirky lead jumps on and then a sample(don't know what it said, something about blood and tears). I believe we are still on the progressive side of things here, and while progressive is fine, I usually like it to be good progressive. This for me is another snoozefest. What's that honey...You want me to take out the garbage? Ok. Zzzzz 4/10

3Freakosaurus- Kybalion "Halt!...be you robot or human?" Cool name for this artist, and it stars ominously with a "goaish" melody and then an aggressive bassline. The track moves along nicely with some swooshing pads and pretty cool effects. Then the track descends into dark psy territory with a low grumbling bassline, and psy all around us. This is the best track so far, but we still have a lot of room for improvement. 5/10

4.Araknoid IV- Phonic Request This one at the beginning doesn't have a melody, just some craziness. Until about 1:45, when I detect a slight melody. A sample of a lot of people talking at the same time...can't understand any of them. Then this "Filthy Bassline envelops me. Sounds like me after too many helpings of my Wife's chili! Again usually I like it filthy, but this track just plods along with no real direction. My feet aren't tapping and my head isn't bobing. Hey, I wonder how many pencils I can get stuck in the ceiling? ZZzzz... 4/10

5Manipulated- Drugon I recently bought this album because Psymag really talked it up. I haven't listened to it yet, so that review will come later. Whattawegot? Nice spectrum "ice-like" pad makes me feel isolated...in a far off place. Funky bassline just chugs along. My head is bobbing now. Nice high toned melody which reinforces the isolationism. I guess the bpms in the 135 to 140 range, so not too slow. But again..a weak lead and just no direction. I am really getting fed-up with this comp in a hurry. Did you see that? My couch is laughing at me. Sucker. 6/10

6 L.S.D. Test- Tron Another artist whose I album I have yet to listen to (On Death Posture's Recommendation) but, please dear God, by all that is holy, bring me a powerful track. This one has an opera sample in it that we have all heard before. I dunno, what is that Carmen? After that, there is absolutely nothing remarkable about this track. What a surprise..another snoozer. I have to say, I like the samples, but I feel that they are just thrown in there. What's that, honey? You want me to go to the store and get some salad fixins? Ok. 3/10

7Psychedelic Experience- Orbital Vision Yeah, we'll see tough guy. The only psy experience I have right now thanks to this comp, is that I might turn to drugs to forget it. Wait..this one has promise. A nice synth line being tweaked in and out. Melodies criss-cross and create a nice mood. Nice calming break, allowing to come off your cloud. Another melody makes its appearance. This was a nice track. Not too hard and not too soft. I'm afraid that we are in such a deep hole however that not even a rocket up my ass would get us out. 7/10

8. Dream Searcher- Elec3 Nice twirling bassline and a pretty decent kick. This track has the most power out of all of them. Nice relaxing melodies and pads run side by side. Not bad. Nothing groundbreaking, but in this compilation it sure does stick out. 7/10

9. House Master- System Nipel "house?" Please don't have my music telling me what to do. "You got to move it move it...you know what I mean. But no, not yet. A nice mid tempo bassline with lasers. I love lasers! The melody is nice and soft. This is like a watch the sunrise track. Some nice synth leads peek in and then an 80's stab. Definitely a groovy track with nice melodies. I think it has become my favorite on the album. Kind of like a poor mans Protoculture. I cannot wait for System Nipels album, I think it will be really good. 8/10

Conclusion: First off, I think reviews should be entertaining and fun to read. So take my opinion for what it is worth. Like my dad always said....opinions are like rectums, everyone has one. I feel that if my parents listened to psy, this is what they would listen to. Nobody is going to feel threatened or get hurt listening to this. This compilation blatantly lies to me. There is no real sustained "groove" and the only thing it manipulates me to do is get back on the couch. Some people might like this style of trance and that's cool. If this appeals to you, might I also interest you in 2 Tylenol PM, a prescription for Ambien and a really boring insurance seminar on a beautiful Saturday afternoon? I'm not a reviewer that gets promo CDs to review; each CD I review, I have bought, so when a CD doesn't live up to what I think it should, it leaves a mark. I know the powers that be can do better. And before you say I am being cruel or that it is easier to criticize, I realize all of these artists have talent. Besides, I couldn't make music this good, so I have to envy theirs! 3/10

Favorites You're kidding right? I wonder if the refrigerator light stays on all the time?
