The review:

Shortly after Spindrive Vol. 3 (review of that soon as well) comes this new compilation 'Frames', compiled by Hamelin. Let's take a closer listen.

Track 1: D-Fusion is at it. We start off with some atmospherics, a padsound creeps in, some echoing melodies with muffled samples in the background. Percussion echoes and then the bass and kick. Pretty standard bassline but it all sounds remarkably tight. Around the 5 minute mark there is a kinda breakbeat part, and after that the song goes on until the end with regular beat and that melody that's pretty nice I must say. Solid opener.

Track 2: Jey & Ex serve up a pretty standard track which sounds a lot like Vaishiyas does most of the time, only a little loosened up maybe and more emphasis on melodies. Nice track, good to groove to

Track 3: Ski-Fi serves up a track. Atmospheric intro, his usual kick and a massive bassline. Nice melodies ofcourse, as is the case with most of his tracks. Certainly a solid track. Maybe a bit predictable but it works. It sounds even better than the tracks he's made before, especially if you listen to it a couple of times and compare it to previous work. I like the break and the melodies at around halfway through the track. Solid stuff.

Track 4: We start off with some atmospherics again, but Sensifeel soon steers us up the progressive bassline and kick path. Nice work on the bassline here, really fat. Not as crispy as his usual stuff, more fat oriented. I like this. The sound that's used in the melody reminds me of 'Oxygene 4' from J.M. Jarre. Nice. A good track, it progresses nicely and has a great vibe.

Track 5: Starting off with some atmospherics again, percussion and hi-hats come in. The song is pretty fat in bass overall, and it has a nice melody. This is one of those tracks that can work really hypnotic. Great stuff.

Track 6: Vaishiyas at it again, and after the stellar track on Spindrive Vol. 2 I didn't think he could sound any fatter, but hey, what do ya know? He managed. More emphasis on melody than in 'Recall', this is one delicious track.

Track 7: On to the titletrack, by Hamelin and somebody called Act Sense. Never heard of that group. Anyway, starts off with a weak kick which quickly turns fatter and some samples click away with some percussion. Synths in the background and a bassline starts. All pretty relaxed stuff I must say. The tempo is also slightly slower than previous tracks. The correct word for this track is pleasant. It's one of those lazy german kinda progtracks. Nice to fill in a set, but nothing worldshattering. Nice one.

Track 8: Continuing in the style of Hamelin and Act Sense, this one is also a little more relaxed than previous tracks. Sounds pretty fat though and the melody seems more electo oriented, although this still remains firmly in german prog kinda territory. Nice track. Haven't heard from this group before, but if this is any indication of future releases it might be one to watch out for.

Track 9: Aerospace, also a regular on Spin Twist and Blue Tunes Records lately, gives Feuerhake's track Movie Rave the remix treatment. I found the original to be a substandard affair, so let's see if this remix can make me get up out of my chair. The song proceeds to sound more like an Aerospace one, so it's pretty groovy. He's managed to take some of the good parts of the original and he built his own track around it. Ok stuff, not a worldshattering track but it's better than the original for sure. Nice, and a fine way to round this one off. Like the bassline near the end.

Conclusion time: So there you have it. Another proggy compilation well done in my opinion. If you like this german kinda progressive style you can't go wrong with this one. There are no downers on this. No tracks that really make an enormous standout either, but hey, this is pleasant proggy music that'll fit in any proggy DJ-set nicely. 8,5/10 from me here. Nice work.
