According to Hadshot this release "provides 10 of the hardest jackin' electro bombs available from the today's top producers".. Well reading the track-listing is enough already to be agreed, and the suggestive titel EletroPunk quickly raised my attention on this compilation.. Thanks and big up to my mum who has sweetly offered it me for Christmas, hihihi. The black/silver cover with some nice draws, the nice font chosen fit well with the concept.. Now I can't wait any more, let's listen to it !

01__ MonoSurround ::: We
02__ Black Strobe ::: Italian Fireflies
03__ Spektrum ::: Kinda New (Tiefschwarz Dub Mix)
04__ Freaks ::: The Creeps (Steve Bug Remix)
05__ Tiefschwarz & Eric D'Clark ::: Blow (Dub)
06__ The Hacker, Millimetric & David Caretta Moskow Reise (Black Strobe Rmx)
07__ ExchPopTrue ::: Discoteca (Jackin Mix)
08__ DJ Hell & Alan Vega ::: Listen to the Hiss (Tiefschwarz Rmx)
09__ Schatsi ::: Burnin'
10__ JouJouka ::: Anarchy in the UK

01-- "We" is taken from a 1st Decade Records 12" that has puffed out many elektro dancers in the four corners of Germany and beyond this year. MonoSurround combines an orchestrial background with some insanely kicking beats carried by a steady phaat bassline drive.. The breakz are simply amazing and the whole is spiced up with many sonic details like (digestible) scratches and (short) vocoder-samples..

02-- The thing with elektro is that the artist' choice are often so radical that they won't leave indifferent. You'll love them or hate them.. And to be honest here, even if the 'concept' is funny, the melody that Black Strobe used is really not my cup of tea.. Everything becomes fine when he skips it in the third minute however, but it doesn't last long.. The whole background is quite good besides, kind of "take it easy man" vibration.

03-- Hehehe now that's huge.. The remixes-addicts Tiefschwarz delivers us some irresistible groOves carrying a bizarre but so exciting background, punctuated here and there by some brazen teasing vocals. The build up is just awesome and complex, the beat pumping as rarely, I just love it. Described "a key ingredient on some of the best deejays' record bags" by Adam Freeland just to mention..

04-- The Freaks 12" single "The Creeps" is out on Azuli Black and features remixes from Steve Bug and Justin Robertson. Yaniv selected germany’s man of the moment Steve Bug's remix which is not far from the original but with a touch that brings something 'mad' (or paste your favourite synonym..). Exciting even if not so "powerfull"', it is one of these vibrations I love in the beginning or the very end of parties.. Cool !

05-- Here we have Tiefschwarz again with Blow, released on a International Deejay Gigolos Records 12".. Elektro House session with rough elements and vocals from Eric D'Clark (great "fly high" sample).. Quoted from another review is this "dub" version "a guaranteed blast thanks to its incredible Chicken Lips-styled beats and synths".. Ehmm couldn't translate this properly in french but it might be understandable for some of you elekro-punkeys.. The brothers Ali and Basti Schwarz founded Tiefschwarz in 1996, with Peter Hoff, boss of the Benztown Studios in Stuttgart which is a city remaining "special" in my night-life experience (between 96-2000).. There has always been a "sound from Stuttgart" hehe, and this track reminds me these exciting days. Very good !

06-- Moskow Reise produced by the french elektro leaders gets here a Black Strobe mix released on a GoodLife 12" (also including a remix from The Horrorist). It has an italodisco beat skipping the happy cheesiness to deliver a pounding vibration. Way better in my opinion than Italian FireFlies, the leading melody is more efficient and its relation with the retrotechno vocoder-samples works quite well. Nice one !

07-- Released on 12" by the confidential label Hot Banana (well known however by vynil deejays), Discoteca is based on an italian female vocoder-sample. Happily it is the "Jackin mix" (B-Side of the 12 ") that has been selected by Yaniv. More punchy than the original, Kiko (member of the famous Phunky Data) and Gino deliver some 'good old days' vibrations.. "World Cup" in example was a purely amazing track from Kiko back in 1998, and I am very happy to listen to such some sounds again. For sure a track to be avoided by the allergics to vocoder, but the ones like me will have much fun on it. Super build-up, super track !

08-- Another piece of International Deejay Gigolos with Tiefschwarz again in their favourite exercice : the remix. The seed here is Dj Hell & Alan Vega's "Listen to the Hiss" which are the lyrics of the vocoder-sample leading the track. The track begins in an easy easy mood, and later a synth work launches the second part of it, somehow scary with the voice of Alan Vega, and bizarre with a quite different background.. Suspense elements add something dramatic to the track and the build up is impressive as often with the Schwarz brothers..

09-- Burnin' is now a little more trancey elektro track, introduced in a very nice way. The dialogue between handclaps in the background and the first leading melody is nice while the suspense raises more and more until the burst of the beat before the second minute. Nice atmosphere but later come a few trancy melodies that don't do it at all in my taste.. They are too gentle and somehow eurodance.. Somehow a pity because the first half of the track was quite good.

10-- Hehehe and finally comes one of the punk anthems, Anarchy In the UK from Sex Pistols re-grooved by JouJouka.. Let's bet the punks allergic to electronic music will call this heresy, and the smooth PLUR trancers will be stroked haha.. In my opinion this track is a piece of fun Tsuyoshi wanted to share.. Find it also on his brilliant album "Are You Elovetric ?" (Mad Skippers)

Hmmm.. This is a special release.. Because of my "youth" and successive musical tastes, it is definitaly something special.. Many things I have enjoyed separately are here combined to deliver something insane on the dancefloOr.. Most of the tracks here are highly energic and danceable, I'll go diggin' deeply on tracks 1,3,5,6,7,8.. Stuff for the fun ! Thumbs up to Hadshot for collecting such music, initially deejay oriented (vynil releases mostly) and allowing us to enjoy these exciting vibrations everywhere/anytime.. Hehehe bring the noise !!!

You should, you should EricsSon

Surely not incompatible with the ::Kali-Frogz:: sound !

I'd like to add that the draw on the CD, quite "the Exploited" influenced is really nice..

This CD fucking rocks. Period.

I'm not sure if much more needs to be said.

All of tracks involving Tiefschwarz on this CD are pure class. The Monosurround track is absolutely excellent. Schatsi - this guy is going to bring an electro twist to the psy/prog scene that will leave it forever changed. I'm already looking forward to electrO'punk #2.

And the cover - I love it.

I totally agree with Alex on this one.. all the tracks are great and it is 10X's better than the previous VA's that were released (if you like electro that is). And like Krelm so nicely said, all tracks with Teifschwarz are great electro tunes.. especially the one with Eric D'Clark.. We have simular tastes in electro Dr. Krelm.

A better review to come in the near future..

Great choice on these massive tunes Yaniv.. and i too really like the cover to this CD, and especially the cover on the actual CD. That CyberSkull is awsome..           "VA - REWIRED" OUT NOW !! (techtrance invasion) ---> http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/86303/forum/9
