Hello dear readers Well here I have the pleasure to share some opinions about this great release from the Bionics Crew with U..

Let's go !

Artists: Various compiled by Onyx
Title: Direct Out
Label: Bionics Records
Cat. #: BIOCD04
Year: 2003

trackListing :
-------------------------------------------------------------
01 :: ElectroSphere ::: FoOd for Thought
02 :: Onyx ::: Raves In Paradise
03 :: PTX ::: POS 51 (break edition by Onyx)
04 :: Onyx & PTX ::: One for Eight
05 :: BamboO Forest ::: XtraBall (E-Jekt Rmx)
06 :: Chain Reaction ::: DMT Server
07 :: Black & White ::: Magic One
08 :: Experience X ::: Experience X
09 :: Oforia ::: Atomix
--------------------------------------------------------------

So here are a few thoughts and observations..

°~01 : The comp opens with YanniV Schults aka ElectroSphere and sounds like an invitation, with the "and now, everybody on the dancefloOr" vocoder sample, already used by BioTonic on the great "Stereo Tonine" track (VA . Solstice).. A nice bassline and a phat handclap should be enough to attract the most recitent freakers...

°~02 : Phat Israli-typical bassline on a juxtaposition of strange and strident sounds, with a strong rhythmic work which brings slowly a few melodic elements... Until a big break... The revival (translation..) is long, pretty long and exciting and I like the snare teasing a little bit the dancer.. I like it !

°~03 : Etherealistic opening for what becomes suddenly a floOr burner !! very strong track with strange voices, and The Delta influenced guitars (very few, that's nice)... The big break in the middle is excellent ! So even if i'm not so "amateur" of all the sounds used in this one, it remains however perfect for the dancefloOr.

°~04 : The fastest track of the comp which initially lays the stress on the rhythmic one before introducing melody elements relatively distorted and strident... It's good ! Once again this guitar "à la Delta" is used (lightly, like before, just as a wink).. Later comes a nice progressive passage with french vocoder samples (I think it comes from "The Ring" movie). A floOr stomper too..

°~05 : Excellent opening : a good phat kick in the ass with hihats madness and GREAT work on snares "Jungle influenced" in the background...An ambience a little "unhealthier", which I appreciate much.. Later the integration of the famous chant sample is well done... it is strong, heavy and with the height of what can hope for of the fans of bamboO Forest

°~06 : Excellent bassline, devilistic... with sounds a bit more urban, industrial oriented... Tiny teasing sounds, perfect to have fun on the dancefloOr... Hmmm shall I define it has techtrance ?? I dunno but however some sounds remind me my german techno experience in the mid-90's, and it is GREAT ! The rhythmic work is impressive and i like the bit noisy final part..

°~07 : Here I just love this kind of "lock chamber" closing door sample, it's great ! More trancey touches for a unit which holds upright without wavering.. The end of the third minute is excellent with a nice cuts work to re-launch the stuff before is big break.. Hmmm this one is a bit less my cup of tea, even if the revival is strong and well done.. Psycho effective one !

°~08 : Flute and violin combo for a 'cinematic' opening (the air reminds me something but just can't put a name on it..).. The Kick bursting suddenly after that is PHAT and i just love this... This is the slowest track of the comp and fits the best with my Vibration... The twirling sounds in the background are really nice... Later a few melody elements give it a deeper aspect, but it is rapidly slapped by excellent rhythmic changes.. The end of the track becomes more (chaotic) melodic.

°~09 : Oforia suggests us here a sound which dissociates remainder of the comp (a little bit).. There's an interesting contrast between noisy and more lighter sounds.. but the delirium is quite squeaking in the whole.
The conclusion of the track is pretty good.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So that's it.
This compilation is definitaly dance-floOr oriented and I guess the freakers who danced recently on Onyx's deejay sets had much fun and pleasure with this kind of stuff. Many people will enjoy these vibrations, i am
sure, filled with fresh experiences... The cover design is decent and pleasant but without particular surprise..

U have here a nice present for yourself or friends, so don't hesitate to give him its chance over saikosounds' samples :

Good review Kako!
my 2 cents:

i'd first like to say that i like how this cd comes, with a cover protecting the jewel case and they didnt forget the dj insert, good job.

and now to the music:

1. like kako said, it starts by beckoning everyone to the dancefloor, just like the cd promised... im dancing already, (in my car). i like how this track develops, slow build...

2. another good thing about this cd is the change to the next track, this track by onyx is not exactly my cup of tea, some sounds are not to my liking, but overall good structure.

3. this is a fine track, full on and driving forward. i could do with out the drug samples, just my pet peeve, if there was a remix without them this track would be perfect.

4. ok ok alright alright... now were cooking with gas - this combination is great. the baseline reminds me of cpu track "central processing unit" rolling and never halting. i like this style alot more, aggressive and moving.

5. i gotta say i was waiting 4 tracks to hear this one... was not disappointed at all! groovy light funky happy bamboo turned evil! what a marvelous work by nir & his partner. made this track dark with twisted samples and hint of those FM sounds twisted to the dark side... great track.

6. this track is a tad industrial as kako mentioned... i like the flow of the whole compliation getting stronger and stonger.

7. black and white, one of the best tracks here... sounds that remind me of pixel but with a tribal touch and tweaked up to full on baseline... excellent work... good ideas.

8. experience x... another new project, good job finding these artists bionics! the track progresses and moves you through it, very hypnotic.

9. i cannot stop listening to this track, this is the best one on this compilation. i agree with kako that its a bit dissasociated... but its amazing... oforia starts with something like the mayday track he did with dede and it just builds and builds and builds and so clear and so driving and so intelligent! i have listenend to this track at least 7 times in the past 12 hours... i like it more every time!

all and all a good compilation and excellent arrangement of tracks by onyx. looking forward to hear more from bionics, you have my support!

favs: 9!, 5!, 7!, 4

I particularly appreciate the rough edge soundscapes of Direct Out, no typical polish israelian stuffs here.

It's also the occasion to discover some new artists nevertheless i must admitt that Oforia dissapoint me here.

favorites:6,7,8

then:3,4,5

mark:7/10

Well...
My friend got the promo for this CD and i didnt find it intresting at all.
Even 1 track that got proper building or emotion with the melodies - just a cheasy full-on .
I expected to a lot more from E-jekt for remixing the great act Bamboo Forest ...he didnt do it right IMO

Really bad CD with no taste 4/10

Great compilation (once again) from Bionics.

Black And White is the big hit of the cd for sure,cant wait for their album on Hommega.

All three tunes produced by Onyx and PTX are very very nice and will blast the dancefloors for sure.

I also like the Experience X and the Oforia tunes plus some parts from the Chain Reaction track.

Great work by the Bionics crew here,also nice artwork,protection case and dj slip note.

I give this one 8/10 and cant wait for the next release           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

Stuff that would make me jump high (that's a good thing of course).
All the tracks are good, no fillers here. Nothing more to say really, except good luck to the bionics crew
