devil in the detail is the latest downtempo breaks and bass compilation from interchill records. with a heavy dose of chunk, crunch and glitched out textures, this album presents a diverse range of idm-inspired tunes from producers in the us, uk, holland, switzerland and israel.
compiled by uk-based label dj/webmaster/graphic designer nick edell, this fresh collection of tracks opens a new horizon in the interchill multiverse with a focus on clear minimalism and hyper-refined sounds. emphasizing the growing glitch scene emerging on the west coast of north america, devil in the detail brings together a complimentary selection of tunes from this intriguing musical aesthetic. from the delicate and atmospheric spaces of faction, tripglitch (aka tripswitch) and legiac to the rumbling bass and beats of gaudi, tipper, ooah and vibesquad, the compilation is all about the detail - leaving much to the imagination while revealing the fact that there?s more to the psychedelic world of downtempo electronica than first meets the eye.

This is Nick's compilation isn't it?
Some gems in it for sure.

I dusted this off over the weekend and listened to it a couple of times. Such a fantastic collection of tunes. Don't know how I moved it out of my cd case - it's going straight back in!
The first three tracks are brilliant, and the bass-t numbers are good too. It covers a fair bit of ground.
I encourage you all to revisit it: http://interchill.bandcamp.com/album/devil-in-the-detail
Btw, check Maux's post just above this one - he's a nice guy inside. |

That Cheju track is responsible for my love of glitchy IDM.
And you're right this is a fantastic release. |

Yes indeed. Same here. That track started a love affair for me with Cheju and glitchy IDM in general. Still brings a tingle when I hear it. |

Glad to hear the positive words...
The Umberloid idea split off into a parallel universe somewhere near yet far a while back... Maybe some elements beat the gravitational pull and found their way into Mir... other bits are still out there, orbiting around, biding time. And the bits that weren't even made yet, who knows...
