Well time to pop my cherry, first review i'v made on this website, hope you all like it.

I'll be reviewing Nexus Media's Deep Into The Nexus today, for all of you who don't know Nexus Media They are the well known and very popular Psytrance Label Based in South Africa Owned by one of the scene's top artists Shift & Slug.

01. Brethren Vs Outer Signal - Rock
A collab between two great artists.Perfect track to start out this cd.Great Twilight atmosphere in this one ,I wouldn't call this one a fast track nor would i call it slow.Psychedelic sounds just flowing everywhere, great breakdowns, massive bassline, very groovy.Definitly not the brethren we heard from there album,But i still dig it.

02. Hydraglyph - Nowhere Near
Massive Bass and Kick, not the kind of percussions you hear everyday,Andrew & Mark Definitly have there own style going here,Percs make the track nice and fast here,Crazy metal sounds panning everywhere,it sounds like they have a guitar playing at the end of this track, rock on.

03. Phyx - Evolver
Bam the track just kicks in at the first second with a massive lead just waiting to explode into the bassline,This track concentrates a bit more on the morning side of phyx in my opinion, but the good kind of morning,Bassline is nice and clear,hi hat gives the track definite massive power, non stop energy in this track,The ending contains a special melody,Definitly loved this track,Dancefloor Killer.

04. Abomination - Pass Away (Shift Rmx)
I loved the original of this track,Couldn't wait to hear the shift remix. This track Probably Contains the most groovy bassline on the cd,at some point at the starting the bass just starts slipping longer than it's original notes, fucking groovy. This one's got killer sounds everywhere, the mood of the track definitly starts to rise harder around 4:20,All in All this is one killer remix.

05. Twisted System - Mad Method (Live Version)
Hey you don't see twisted system singles released everyday now do ya?.Happy to see these guys releasing a single,it's been long.So i was a huge fan of the original,In this Live Version they have changed the bassline sound,It definitly fits way better now than before, not the typical twisted system bassline tho,Its higher pitched than usual,I think most sounds from the original track are still in here, they have changed the breakdowns a bit, definitly killer change, and added more sounds and leads. This one lead that they removed wich was my favourite of the original,I think they should have left it.So if you liked the original of this track you'll definitly rock to this one .

06. Slug Vs Abomination - Where Is Magneto
''The Meetings Begun Sir'',Really Phat Bass and Kick in here, this will kill the dancefloor,Energy in this track just keeps rising every single minute,As you can read the track is based on x-men,you can really feel the x-men mood in this track, makes me think of blue steel and mutants.Dj's have fun spinning this track,I know I will!

07. Shift - Pump
This track reminds me alot of a shift track released not long ago,I just can't remember wich one,Anyways. This track starts up with a nice atmosphere.percussions really fit well with all the track, aswell as the bass,I dig it.The Leads in this track are awesome,I always enjoy shift's sounds.

08. Pitch Hikers - Counter Culture
My favourite track of this cd. It starts out with a silent atsmophere, just the typical killer pitch hikers pad.The bass in this track definitly stands out alot.Crazy sounds everywhere coming out of nowhere, and these little weird voices playing in alot of parts of the track...very weird but enjoyable . The middle of this track really concentrates more on the happy side of pitch hikers, amazing melodys,You can really feel this track has 3 parts and each part has its own mood.

09. Artifakt - Gravity Spine (Pt 1)
so you see artifakt on the cd,what kinda music are you expecting it to be ? ...I myself am always surprised to hear what he has to play.this track is more on the breaks side but still very psychedelic

10. Artifakt - Gravity Spine (Pt 2)
Ok now here we have artifak't more psytrance side.Full of weird sounds as he always uses,I enjoy this kind of stuff cuz you don't hear it everyday, when i first started listening to it, it felt like russian psytrance, but then the melody's were way too happy to be psytrance,I think it's a great mix.

So I really enjoyed this compilation,I don't enjoy alot of psytrance these days either wich is a pitty for me,But this one really stuck me back in the psytrance listening mood,i'll be rockin this one on the floor for a few months =)

great compilation by nexus media. just about all the tracks are stand outs. hydraglyph's track is a lot harder than their usual stuff. the twisted system track is great. expected more from the pitch hikers track. both abomination tracks are great. really liked, ' where is magneto?'. and artifakt. ahah really unique stuff. i think he is one of those artists who will always keep you guessing as to what he's got cooking. my luck to the label and the artists involved.

I ve been ardent follower of nexus releases as it is one of my fav labels. But to be quite honest, i feel let down by all their releases post Abomination - Enemy within, and same is the case with this one. They r beginning to sound somewat like 3D vision, and i really miss the raw twilight sounds they were so good at givin bfore.

Phyx's tracks have always been good...and this exposes his morning side as well... good stuff. Apart from this the abomination vs slug track is the only one tht has caught my attention. Artifakt has always been a genius is crafting something unique, he has somewat done it here, but wld u call this psy trance?? I wouldnt. Overall the compilation is not bad, but defnitely not as good as wat nexus used to be. Hope to hear better tunes soon.

All the best

Great compilation imo.

Track 6 is the best...

03:06-"Where is Magneto? Raven... Raven i asked you a question...!!!" and boom... and then comes the other kick ass melody!!! No words, great job by these guys.

I like shift and Phyx tracks too.

Artifakt tracks are very special.

Worth buying it. Trust me

rao!

beautifully crafted compilation. it has arrived the day before the party. playing and making the party, no time to listen. straight to aurora party. i pumped the volume high and the people got really mad. BOOOOM! and i was already mad before, just listening the explosive 4min on saiko sounds. grrrreaaat!

all traxx are brutalis. and there is some colour too. it has megaton power. a silicon-melting-kind-of-sound. very strong, in-your-face, made to open air landscapes, on the orange hour.

special congratulations to shift, slug, abomination, brethren & outer signal, hydraglyph and phyx. gracias.

jah bless you!

This is a great comp. THe Phyx track I believe is the stand out, but lots of support from Shift, Pitch Hikers (liked that one!), and Hydraglyph.

I usually don't like Artifakts music (even though I have both of his CDs) but I am slowly becoming a fan. Keep it up Nexus Media.
