Etnicanet’s fourth release encapsulates the freshness and explosive energy that is the present Brasilian trance scene. Celebra Brasil (taking its name from the yearly outdoor festival) presents an ensemble of 9 previously unreleased tracks, compiled by Max Lanfranconi (Etnica) and collected from the artists who helped make our Etnicanet festival so successful. Featured artists include established acts such as Saikopod, Etnica and GMS, as well as impressive newcomers such as Wrecked Machines.
Track List:
1) Saikopod – Insoma
2) GMS – Psychedelic Circus
3) Etnica – Detonator
4) Wrecked Machines – Who Cares
5) Tortured Brain – After Math
6) Synthetic – Time Bandits Rmx
7) Nerve – Nervous (Etnica RMX)
8) Antidote – Make No Mistake
9) Lotus Omega – She Bang
1) We are immediately plunged into an openair frenzy with Danish duo Saikopod’s jump start. Insoma is a beautifully crafted, thick-layered compositional masterpiece with plenty of warm, dubby soundspheres, driven by the pulse of a strong, dry kick. Excellent production and synth-lines to die for!
2) Psychedelic Circus is an utterly pleasant morning groover with the usual feeling of ‘control’ that the Ibiza-based band embeds into their crystal-clear production. Slower than their usual dancefloor grinders, we are presented with an impressive and atmospheric build-up track, along with another one of those GMS samples to put smiles on the dancing crowd.
3) Detonator slowly shifts us back into nocturnal madness with a tasty, refined stomper. A very dynamic bassline flows along smoothly as percussive ticklers and sprinkles of gas marry darkened arrays of synth. Vast atmospherics and details galore…
4) Taking where Etnica left off, Wrecked Machines show off some impressive production with a darkish and groovy track. Various percussion lines are klunked together between the beats, as gaseous sprinkles and reversed droplets of spheric dub enhance its soundscapes. Sharp cymbals, dynamic percussions and a powerful kick keep increasing its inertia octet after octet – very nice for nocturnal jiggling as well as for trancing into the morning.
5) Tortured Brain then makes a sharp turn and dives back into full-on synth acrobacies with a massive audio-journey hued in Atomic darkness. With old-skool Italian underground sampling from L’ultimo Imperio and humorous sampling from the West-coast hip-hop scene, After Math is sheathed into veteran production quality that dances you into plenty of contorted sonic situations.
6) Already a favorite among the luckier dj’s, Synthetic’s extravagantly twisted version of Time Bandits combines an exquisitely funky bassline, ferocious percussions and charismatic ambience all about. Dado’s well-known tricky tweakage abounds as this dancefloor gem takes you through plenty of twists&surprises – very very nice J
7) Another remix is brought to you with Etnica’s version of the well-known classik, Nervous. Commencing with a powerful breakbeat, this track boasts massive cubicles of kick, schizo-nervous percussions, a hypno-continuum of bass, and of course the state-of-the-art sound quality that is characteristic of the Italian duo. Very unique sounds and synth composition make this another dancefloor reliability.
8) Usual suspect Serge delivers another electro-feelgood track with plenty of melodies for the Total Eclipse lovers with Make No Mistake, which brings us back to the morning craze. Yet another coherent and very unique sonic trip from the French veteran.
9) Lotus-Omega finishes off the compilation with an utterly particular She Bang. Corrupted noise-sequences are driven by a hammering kick and a bouncy, one-off bassline, with their trademark acidic leads as well as Ibizan melodix.

This is about the worst festival here in brazil, but it´s a nice compilation released from etnica.net;
the album starts with saiko-pod... this track "insoma" is good... with a good grooveand a good percrsion, everything in the right place.
The second track from gms is a good tune, but not new or incredible.
the third track from etnica is a little boring track with dark melodies that are very repectitive..
the fout
the fourth is from wrecked machines a brazilian act that is constant evolution.. the track "who cares" is a good tune with a bit of brazilian culture..
the track number 5 is a nice tune from tortured brain... this track rememeber something of the "old psychedelic" that´ve been lost through those years..
the sixth track from synthetic is a very nice song... a very good balance.. good effects ... good ideas in the music.... very good..!
the track number seven called "nervous" .. this song is like the track from etnica... have the same style
the track 8 from antidote is very nice tune... i like it very much... antidote is always good!
track 9 is a very good track from another brazilian act called lotus omega... a nice tune with a strong bass line and a lot of noises,,!
final veredict: 7/8.. |

Antidote and the brazilian acts save this comp from being too average... 6.5/10
