Echoes Records is an Israeli based label specializing in electronic music. The label was founded in the beginning of the year 2006, by Top International DJ Osho (oshry Ben Simon).
The main concept is raising awareness to the most innovative and cutting edge sounds in the available Progressive and Techno scene. In the last few years Echoes has managed to define it’s position on the global electronic music scene, been strongly represented by artists such as Brisker & Magitman, Khainz, Fitalic, Vibrasphere, Perfect Stranger, Ace Ventura and more. Check out this pure gem they made.

Through the tracks:

01 :: Motion Drive – Oscillation Of Energy
Philip Guillaume aka Natural Flow aka Rumble Pack comes here with the best side of his talet, imo, the Progressive one.
Intro is very nice, starting deep and smooth. Starts kicking, some FX and that Motion Drive characteristic baseline. Some really cool elements and a nice flow, specially on the melodies.

02 :: Flowjob – Zugar Baby Baylon
Joakim and Mads need no introduction, having released many amazing tracks on the best labels of their style. This one is not different.
The baseline starts pumping from the start, which I loved. The effects are distorted and continuous, creating and incredible atmosphere. Has a sort of “Electro” taste on it, melodies working great and the grooves very well put.

03 :: Ace Ventura – Winter Solstice
Here comes Yoni with another Progressive GEM. I just love his style, people may find it similar and unique, but works perfectly for my ears.
I loved it’s melodies, they are catchy and very beautiful. Baseline just floats on it, kicking nicely and grooving right after it. Very nice leads, taking you one nice Proggy trip. Another great one by Yoni.

04 :: Quantize - Dymethyltryptamine
Reshef and Adi are the most promising talents in the Prog side now-a-days, imo. These guys really know how to make you feel good in a dance-floor.
This is the compilation’s highlight for me. I’ll tell you why. They are creating a new style of Progressive. I like to call it a sort of Progressive Tech-Psy (lol) cause it has the Proggy baseline, Proggy leads and a Tech atmosphere. This one is a bomb for sure, be it for Outdoor or even Indoors. Nice one guys. “Heavy doses of Dymethyltryptamine”. BOOOM! Amazing.

05 :: Rocky – Technics Bla (Midimal Remix)
Christian Merki is Midimal, remixing a killer track by Rocky.
Another highlight of the comp. The original was good, and this one follows it even better. Great leads, great effects, an astonish baseline and a small taste of Electro on it too. A nice break, making you thing: “Why is this vocal here? Will he slow down it down?” No, it comes back in style, progressing deeply and gaining power to knock you down. Killer melodies.

06 :: Lish – Dirty Feelings (Alter Breed Remix)
Another promising act is Alter Breed. These guys know how to make an incredible vibe on their tracks, not to mention, remix any amazing track keeping up the quality on the originals. This is exactly the case.
How can you make something good, become even better? When I saw this, I thought: These guys have balls, to remix this track. And they did it in a way, that almost made me forget the original one. Amazing. Top notch stuff for everyone listeners.

07 :: Bitmonx & Fabio – City Lights
This is my favorite track. Each day passes, I get more into these guys style. They create and incredible atmosphere, a very catchy vocal just leading to jump like a freak on the dance-floor, at home, or even in your car. A perfect baseline and a very nice kick drum. Love its Hi Hats, grooving high and making you move like a zombie. The vocal fitted perfectly on the tracks flow. This reminded me of old Brisker & Magitman and a couple of Duca’s tracks. Awesome. Best one for me.

08 :: Earsugar – Guardian (RPO Remix)
Rick Pier O’Neil comes to remix a track from, nothing more nothing less than two of the most talented guys in the Swiss scene.
This one has a more deep characteristic, I think it’s more oriented for indoors cause it’s more techy than the others. But still has Capo's finger on it, creating a nice flow like any Liquid Sould or Martin's track.

09 :: Vib & Pad - Trapped
To be honest, I have no idea who these guys are, but they did a nice track to end a fucking awesome comp.
Like the previous track, the atmosphere is not really Proggy as the others, but has some beautiful melodies and some killer leads, just taking you through it. Grooves nicely as well. Nice way to close it up. More deep. “Must remember…”

Bottom Line:

I don’t how Osho managed to collect these 9 perfect tracks, and put them together making them fit each other in every way. Also making a story while you listen to it.
Always thought Echoes was one of Top5 labels in low style. Now I’d like to put it as Top3, without a doubt.
Just loved every inch of it.

Thanks Osho and all these brilliant artists that contributed to my ears pleasure for the past 3 days. And will continue on doing it.

First I want to say that this is a brilliant review by you my friend It, aka MINEIRIN.

You could close your eyes and feel yourself just inside the music on this WONDERFULL VA (maybe it´s even more then just wonderfull) that DJ Osho could compile.

In fact we see a lot of great releases overthere, but it´s not commun to like the whole CD and I must confess this time I really liked it from the beginning untill the end!

Echoes is showing the world that it´s not in the game just for fun: they are on the scene to win the championship about ''which label will release the best compilation''. And I must say they are in one of the top positions imo.

As it is for It, the highlight of this VA for me is the QUANTIZE - DMT. I had the honror of checking this sound some time ago when Quantize came to Brazil and Adi showed me it, explianing they tried to make exactly a mix between a Prog Psytrance and Tech House style since this last one is a trend nowadays and the other one is quantize´s essence. I am sure I will play it in Virada Cultural, will reduce it from 135 to around 131, 130 and feel like it a ''heavy tech house track'' instead of a low prog psytrance

Flowjob also did a really good job imo, as they ALWAYS do... Joakin is a very good guy overall and I hope these guys dont stop making sounds so soon for our pleasure! In this track they could show us that we can make a mix between Prog Psytrance with some touch of Electro, and well not Electroshit, but ELECTRO. We cannot consider Electro a bad sound generally and this track teaches us exacly this: a pure tripping track! Congratz guys!

And finally my other favorite is ALTER BREED REMIX FOR LISH. OMG. Both groups are excellent and I am sure we will see some other cooperations between them. Alter Breed for me is not just a promising act as you said bro (it). It´s already another different emusic producer, from those that we can count in one hand the power that they have to put into their music and also the vibes they can create and pass for us through them... KEEP IT COMMING ALTER BREED! LISH is amazing for long time already and Lior and Shay already know the secret to make us dance (but they still keep it hidden from many friends hehehe) Congratz guys, amazing work!!!

Congratz It for the Review, Osho for the Compilation and all producers for MAKING IT POSSIBLE!

Donno if it's Virb or Pad but one of them was part of the excellent Frogacult (full CD & other releases on Iboga) It seems that they kept the Froga sound. Very nice track.

Thanks guys for the reviews
We really appreciate it
About Virb & Padd, yes one of them was part of the legendary Frogacult (Mikkel Calum)
And along with David Henriksen
They are now Virb & Padd
The guys kept some of Frogacult flavor in their music
But still it’s a bit different for the usual Frogacult style we all know
I am sure many people will fall in love with their new music
As well you can expect a new debut album from these duos during this year
Cheers

Since Echoes Records started I had the impression that it was a label without own identity just trying to put good names and interesting tracks as collaborations and remixes but I must to say that the 3 progressive compilations that they got released are pure quality besides of the good names in each compilation.

"Borderline" is so far the best compilation of 2009, full of quality progressive trance crossover with progressive house.

I am impressed that nobody mention the Motion Drive track which is a nice a morning groove... very smooth with wonderful catchy melodies, one of his best tracks since now... a great opener

The Flowjob, Virb & Padd, Alter Breed (remix) and RPO (remix) tracks does their thing, amazing stuff, specially the Virb & Padd track, very deep progressive trance, some of the old Frogacult influences is there too, looking forward for the forthcoming music from this guys.

Ace came with a fresh tune, not recycled at all, although he use two small sounds from their preview tracks but it has a different shape and ideas, is a good track IHMO, maybe the most groove tune from Yoni since he took his name as Ace Ventura, nice one!

Quantize came with another fresh track, this is what I can call fresh. Full of new combinations and fresh sounds and ideas taken totally into their trademark. Let's called a nice fusion of progressive trance in guise of full on with some tech influences in a dope session at the studio? who knows but is a cool tune

Find a weakest track here is hard but been strict, the Bitmonx and Fabio didn't workout with me, nothing really happen.

I think Echoes find their own niche now, Borderline show it crearly and despite that this is a great compilation a good label is formed for his own artists, which I am really looking forward to see which artists they've signed for albums and "DUDES MAKE AN UPDATE OF THE WEBSITE. I'M TIRED TO SEE THE MAN WITH THE SHOVEL"

The site is undone since the label started since 2006, do something about it. (http://www.echoes-records.com/)

Excited for the upcoming stuff from Echoes..

Haven't had much time to listen to music lately, but I keep coming back to this CD. Really good compilation with especially Flowjob, Ace Ventura, Motion Drive and the Alter Breed remix standing out. Also Quantize provided a really pumping dancefloor track.

One of the best progressive compilations so far this year.           DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

Borderline - compiled by DJ Osho -=- Echoes Records

Tracklist:
1. Motion Drive- Oscillation of Energy 8:16
2. Flowjob- Zugar Baby Babylon 7:27
3. Ace Ventura- Winter Solstice 8:57
4. Quantize- Dymethyltryptamine 8:53
5. Rocky- Technics Bla (Midimal remix) 7:42
6. Lish- Dirty Feelings (Alter Breed remix) 7:18
7. Bitmonx & DJ Fabio- City Lights 8:15
8. Earsugar- Guardian (RPO remix) 7:42
9. Virb & Padd- Trapped 10:03

Right from its debut compilation- Think Different- Echoes Records threw itself between the heavyweights of the psy progressive scene, and since then every other of its releases stands out in an impossible to ignore way. That being said, I must add that this is their best or second best release, and a strong contestant for best progressive compilation of the year. This is it, end of review. No? Ohh, sorry, now I got it, you want to have a glimpse of why is that. An empirical explanation could be that listening to it makes me wanna dance like there was no tomorrow, bringing to my mind some of my dearest psychedelic festival memories. I have a deep desire to listen to some of these tracks in potent sound system, especially at an open air event. A more direct approach would be trying to describe the feeling I had when a friend asked me to define my favorite or least favorite track. It was like an anxiety building up and then I just said: “come on, let’s listen to it!”. It is needless to say that all tracks here will do the job at the dance floor or please the proggy heads when home listening. I feel that the first half has a better flow between the tracks and it is valid to mention the cover concept matching precisely the name of the release and the approach of the music.

Recomendation: Osho did an excellent selection work here and the professional 4CN Studio mastering was the cherry on the top of this outstanding Echoes release.

Favorite tracks: The whole package!
Respect!           .

...Dance like nobody's watching...

That RPO remix of Earsugar is perfect progressive Trance as it should be done, nothing more, nothing less. So deep, pulsating and pounding, what an infectious groove!

Probably my favorite track from the trance genre this year, WOW!!!           Check out my album: http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/gay-satanic-hippie-tiefenrausch
