Hi ... im seeking help with using airbrush on decos, the problem is the airbrush stops working, the nozzle gets blocked it seems.

We're making our own paint with regulear paint + glow particles:

the problem is the paint is probably too thick for the airbrush. Companies make special airbrush paint with the proper consistency, and also UV. I've never had any luck watering down my own paint for the airbrush.
Also maybe try adjusting the pressure of the compressor, could help a little.

Also, try resting the nozzel of the gun in some water when you are not using it. This way it wont dry when not being used. I usually have small container of water and I just stick the gun with the paint container off, pull the trigger and just let the water rinse thru it.
Cleaning is also a problem and after every colour (if you want) and after every session it has to be properly cleaned or it will clog and possibly be too hard to clean well. then your airbrush wont work properly.. and we all know how frustrating that can be..

also dont forget your respirator! those little particles of UV pigment can't be healthy..

Powder's particles are too thick for the fine tip of your gun...
Paints that are specially for airbrush are the best but a little expensive..heh..and u need too much paint when dealing with backdrops.
Im watering down my water based acrylics (which come in paste) and they work just fine. Its the diameter of my airbrush and the paints particles that helps.
Now bout the cleaning... what i found Extremely handy for cleaning my gun is those small cylindrical brushes they sell in drugstores for cleaning in between the teeth. They come in several diameters ( i use 0.6 for my budger) and they are even solvent proof!! its the ultimate cleaning tool =] u can even clean your brush without disasemble the whole gun. i also have an old toothbrush in my pocket and brush occasionally the tip when some dry paint stucks on.
when u clean your gun's needle ALWAYS pull it from the front side of the gun to take it off. And as Neil mentioned above, Never forget your respirator =]           www.nikoxil.com
