I have absolutely no knowledge abt LFO,Pitch, gain etc...
but was playing around on a friends computer one day... and did manage to make some funky sounds...all randomly done...
Now.. do artists also create the FX in thier tracks on a random basis..or they really plan out everything in their head and then continue
....good fudge comes on slow!!! |

You can start with random stuff and fine tune what you like.
Or you know what you want and how to archive it, then you do not need to play around
But you can always find nice and crazy sounds this way

I believe both,
No limits for the flow, no rules for the inspiration
doesn't matter if you thought about it in your head before or if it came out after breaking sounds for thousand pieces- once you have a good sound it's came from you- from your energy, from your inspiration, that's what matter.
peace,
  Space is the place

i personaly find randomizing anything in my music, as lack of creativity - but that´s me and my god damned music...
although, random things can help me achieve the plan I want - and then I make the random to be non-random anymore. That´s the only good use of random for me. Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

makin in random introduces u to new sounds,,
new options and lettin u know more abt what can do what to a particualr sound,,experimentation is the process.
fine tuning is rite, perfectly said by eyb,
make new innovative sounds, not tha ones people are used to
then get tha rite sound from it by tuning it the rite way which again comes bty experimenting!
