Cheers to all,
this year we're intending to start shooting a movie and we would like to use some tracks (at least parts) composed by ambient artists.
The main concept of the movie is to show the relation between outdoor enthuasism, love of nature, mountaineering and environmental pollution. We love ambient and psy music and thought this is the music which could express our feelings the best way.
However, we don't want to use any artist's property without his/her permission. It's important to know that we are not a big film studio with plenty of resources but a couple of guys with ideas, enthuasism and hopefully with talent. That also means we are on budget. This movie is going to be our first release but we've been preparing for two years in camera handling, non linear editing etc.
The question goes to any artist reading this post or whom it may concern:
Could you explain us the procedure of getting rights to use someones music in our movie?
