So,the deal is,I got this ACER aspire 1690 Laptop which barely moves (it works but slow as hell),and I think that I would like to use it in music production, but I am not sure what can I do with it?

Or use it as a second monitor next to your desktop. |

Some daw's, Reaper for example, allow to use other computer to host a single track, fx or vst, as using a dedicated DSP for it.

i think you might want to try sampling it... or rather sample yourself taking a hammer to it.

For using it as a synth/fx in conjunction with other tools/pc's i'm hoping you have a low-latency audio card (not the one on the motherboard for sure), not only for latency, the analog audio signal crossing motherboard maybe will get dirty by other things happening on internal buses like reads and writes to disk and memory...i have a 10 year old Extigy (usb) that serves well for signal isolation and i'm keeping it for this purpose only....
if you are on windows with a compatible card try this:
http://www.asio4all.com/
or
http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/ (currently the one i'm using)
and, if you want to rip off screen, then you'll need a LCD controller to drive this panel outside....not a easy job if you are not confident with things like that
