Using macbook pro touchpad mouse as xy pad?

Hi!
Excuse me if this is absurd or has been asked before but I couldnt find it in search.
I am interested to know if its possible to use the touchpad mouse of the macbook pro as an xy controller midi message in Ableton Live 8? It would be really cool if thats possible. Im using the new 2011 macbook pro.

There's an easier way to do this. In your preferences, select the "drag lock", now you can double click on the X/Y in Ableton Live and move it to your pleasure.
