what`s ur opnion about using pre-made loops in ur music?
im seein people using percussion loops and even bassline loops and in opnion its bad, i mean as the final product will be his, he can be called a producer, but where`s is the creation process? i just want to share my view, i think in eletronic music there are producers, as there are in any style of music (pop rock etc) and there are producers that are also musicians, those that create the music. I think music must come from the inside you have to put your mind and creativity to work to make it come out,i think when someone just go to the internet, download a bassline loop put in melodyne and get the mid file to use the line, the music just wont have his signature, will have others signature.
please share your point of view about this!

well i agree on that. using a loop as it is from a sample pack isnt that creative, thats right. What i sometimes do is listen through some loops that contain stuff that might be useful, slice em out and use single bits of them. |

Agree with @becktrank - The creation process is (for me at least it is) very rewarding, using other guys pre-made loops is placing sounds only, you won't be making them.

Bassline loops seems like you're killing the creation process, and one of the funnest parts of it all.
Loops are there to help you - i'm meaning percussion loops mostly, but any kinds really. Use them effectively. It doesn't make you a bad producer. If something sounds good, use it. Sometimes some percussion loops can open up another avenue for where you want your music to go as well.
Use them to enhance your music. --
but at the same time man, right or wrong, don't listen to bullshit about it being right or wrong - it's your decision, if you're worried about other people being like 'ahhh you just got loops mann' who cares man. if it sounds good, it sounds good.
Or you can be like steve angello and make Knas...
actually yeah -
Find awesome loops that no one ever uses because people feel 'guilty' about using loops, then profit.

thanks all fou ur opinions....
@Obelizk i tottaly respect your ideais, but i still prefer to enhance my music not by downloanding pre-made loops from the internet, but learning, listening, practicing, i mean, i think maybe percussion loops would be ok, but anything besides that (basslines, lead melodies, etc) i think is too much, music must be more personal, i may be wrong but i like too se the image of a producer (an eletronic music producers) as also a composer, not as someone that will pass all day looking for loops on the internet to at night arrange it all and search for nice presets, i mean, the final results can be good, no doubt, but it wont be trully yours.

Depends how you use them i suppose. I get a magazine called computer music which has production masterclasses, and quite a few pros use commercial sample cds. If you just mixing wav loops in ACID then yes its a bit uncreative, but if you make them your own by chopping slicing etc....then...what works is what works |

You're drawing a very subjective line in the sand between what constitutes original creation.
So, you don't like loops or stuff that other people have made, and you want to make it all yourself.
Should you...make your own synth from scratch and only use that because other people made the synths that you're using and hence anything you create on it will be theirs?
Obviously no one would take that position, but its just an exaggeration of your attitude to prove a point that it is completely subjective.
I use Stylus RMX - it is a program that contains thousands and thousands of drum loops. However, I consider it to be one of the most creative tools in my arsenal because it allows you to start with a loop and then completely change it so that it is totally unlike what you started with.
As long as the things you are using make you feel creative that's all that counts.
I agree with you however that loops and sample libraries and preset browisng most of the time will net you an unoriginal sound...I remember when I first started out I was basically arranging premade loops and presets and if you check my earliest tracks on soundcloud...yeah they're total shit.
Anymore the only samples I use outside of the Spectrasonics line of products are percussion samples....because with FX and Leads and Basslines I get that feeling that its not mine, that I didn't do any creative work. If the tools you are using though allow you to start with a sample/loop and end up with something significantly different....I think that's worth it and is a 'legit' form of creative expression

I use loops as inspiration, Can be great too listen to a well made percussion loop, see what they made and get an idea of a rhythm and then create my own.
Otherwise i agree with you, doesent feel ok too just take a full loop and say: i made this!. |

I steal one-shots from loops all the time, rarely use full loops but cut/edit/ctrl+d/stereo-flip/start over I do all the time.
