Hi boys and girls (if there are any here),

I was wondering.
If artists like Menog that used some of Jim Morrison vocal samples and other artists that use documentary samples and film samples; ever asked for permissions or even got done for it?

I hope you get my point cos we a lot of music with film samples and Im sure most of it got released, considering author rights and all that, does anyone know how do they or do you do it?

(Only asking cos am releasing an album soon and don't want to get done for it.)

P.S.-

Don't worry about using film samples.. the chance that they ll hear it and sue you is way way way too small.           soundcloud.com/supergroover

I hope you're right mate. but it still worries me.

I'll have a word with my promoters and see what they have to say about it.
They are the ones releasing the album so they are probably the responsables.

have listen to what you present in here up there and there is not somthing new or special that you cant do in your studio with a mic and some good vst's .
I think by using those net samples or movise you losing the all fun by produce and creat your own kind of music , This is not an real art .. This is you Vs Warner Bros' sound engineers ,
This is the way you want your track be sound and hear ?

I know what you're saying and I do record my own samples sometimes but one of the reasons I do it is because if you have watched the documentary were the samples were taken from you will be like: "Oh, I know that from somewere..." when you listen to the music and vice versa. I think it gives a bit of spice to the music, then again I might be wrong.
Another thing is using memorable man's speeches (Like in mental universe you can hear huxley's interview) to remind us of certain historic event's, It would be a bit hard or even silly to reproduce Huxley's interview with my own voice dont you think?

Anyway I do agree with you in trying to make my own samples in order to b more original.

Thank you for the advice.
(Sorry for the bad english...)
