Hey guys,

Is there anyone here who's using an external LCD/TFT screen with their laptops? Is it possible to hook one up using a normal dvi cable?

What if i want to hook up two screens to my laptop, is there a device which allows me to do that?

Getting kind of sick of switching to the mixer all the time as the resolution on the laptop isn't that high..

I'm thinking of getting a 22" screen, how's this one:

now thats a price... wow!

it's worth the money anyway. i had acer before. was ok. i think most screens are today if you are not after games and color accuracy.

make sure your laptop graficcard supports 1680x1050 resolution, then it should work. maybe you will be able to use dual screen, one will be the laptop and the second the new one.. but I never did that... though I know from people how did, depends your laptop grafix I guess.

hi Get-a-fix

yes, it's no problem to hook up an additional screen to your laptop IFF your laptop has a secondary monitor output. my laptop (older model) has an analog monitor output which works fine with my eizos if needed (they got digital and analog inputs). today laptops often come with a digital output (DVI). be sure to check though.

the only thing you then need to do is hook up the device and in windows, go to screen settings and set two screens and "extend desktop to second screen". it may depend a little on your gfx drivers (e.g. nvidia got some own configuration panel). yes, it's possible to use the laptop screen and the external screen together showing different content.

cheers

looks like it works if you have only one monitor output and its around 140 euro.
