Hey,

Is it possible to use the computer keyboard to play notes from pluggins? In flstudio, reaktor and some other programs u can do using the QWERTY ETC.., in case u dont hv a midi controller...
I didnt find anything mentioned in cubase's manual, but i kind remember using this function a long time ago, i guess it was something related to the "monitoring" icon or something.. Am i wrong?
Thank you folks =)

Hey Alias, thanks a lot for the tip..

But i was thinking of some way of doint it inside cubase, just like other programs do. Even in flstudio, if i remember right i just need to turn some feature on and voila, u press the computer keybord and your vst synth play, simple as that. much better than using the mouse.. which sucks for finding melodies imo.
If i hv to open one pluggin everytime i want to play notes using keyboard to make this connection than i guess i must save tons of patience, hehehe

Ok.. i hv downloaded both programs. Then i installed the MidiYoke. The Virtual keyboard i opened as stand alone. After i did that i opened a midi channel in cubase and routed to albino. Than i played a few notes in the midi channel.. tried to do with the copmuter keyboard and nothing... It didnt work..
than i even tried copying the midiyoke dll to steimberg folder (as i dont know how will this work, is it a plugin i open inside my sequencer or is it just something it will stay in the background, just as a needed device?)
How do i get this device to work guys? If i correctly undertood, the stand alone program will keep opened BUT i dont hv to use it, right? It would be pointless if i hd...
Give me a light , please! I am getting nuts here...

install vmk

install midi yoke plugin.....it should be installed as new hardware device!

in vmk go to: settings

in midi port choose: midi yoke nt:1

in cubase go to devices: choose device setup

midi section : all midi inputs: click yes for all midi yoke devices!

midi section : windows midi: click yes for all midi yoke devices!

open vmk as standalone, open your vst with midi channel, thats all.....just open vmk on top and play with your keyboard!

Dude.. thanks for the effort.. but it doesnt work here. I am about to jump by the window! I installed the midiyoke as a new device (just like the read file says to do). Then i open the virtual keybort, set the midi port to midi yoke NT: 1. Then i opened cubase, went to de devide setup.
All yoke midi imputs were already set to "yes". Then in the Windows midi tab, everything is set to "yes", except for the midi yoke's outputs (they are eight). They are set to "no" and cubase do not allow me to change.
I am about to break my keyborad here, it doesnt work.. It must be something i am missing, can u help?
I even tried different settings in "default midi ports" but none of them seems to work..
thanks for your time.. Do i hv to place any of the dlls files to somewhere?
It seems so simple, dont know why it isnt working here.. thanks..

for virtual midi keyboard i think the
maple virtual midi cable works better..
http://www.hurchalla.com/Maple_driver.html
i use it on cubase an it works very well....
well actually it used to .. dont know what happened but i can play it normally but when recording it lags and fucks up.. any ideas??
yeah i know.. use a real keyboard , but this is extra cool for making music at the job, at school or anywhere!

Hey thanks! It worked! Ufa... hehehe

Just one thing... hv to stay with the keyboard opened inside the sequencer it is a bit trouble, cause when i press record (or in any part inside the sequencer) then the keyboard software goes to the background, and i hv to bring it back and bla bla bla...
I remember in flstudio u can even record the midi eu press, with wantize features and more.. cant believe cubase doesnt hv some thing.. :/
