Sometimes I will put chorus on, and then use a stereo tool, to turn the bass back to mono. Chorus, Phaser, Flanger are all effects related to delay.
Actually, sometimes, with delay, I find too long a tail, and chorus is pretty trippy on bass.
Plus.. mixing for vinyl records? At this point.. I don't care. Like I said.. Stereo tool and put it back to mono. Cheers

making a chorused bass back to mono will occur cancelations and phasing issues..
if you want to add chorus to the bass just split the signal and keep everything bellow 200hz in mono and add chorus to everything above so your bass will work both on mono and retain the wide feel on stereo.

i sometimes use a small bit on some bass, not that much on full on bass, i do use a little on my prog bass sometimes
