I don't wanna be a spammer, but i really gotta ask this: Is it possible, i mean, if anyone tried to use a 303 acid synth instead of the psytrance bass?

Roland Tb 303 is a bass machine, TB= transistor bass

But what really do you mean "instead of the psytrance bass" ?

All synths can make basses, you can use it for any style of music...

He means using a resonant classic acid sound instead of psybass... i think it can work, other genres rely intensly on this... but i still would add some bass, i have heard this acid bass style in artist like Dino Psaras or Paul Taylor.

Since acid is resonant i see it as a more pitchy element that a bass, maybe it can work with the 303 bass... why don't you try it?

totally not possible to do anything at all outside the rigid ruleset of psytrance. You MUST use VB with quadrafuzz or else, sorry, no one will dance to your music and you might as well give up now.

(otherwise known as sarcasm - do w/e the fuck you want! experiment! I love rezzy acid basslines.)            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

If i use for example Rebirth as i think its one of the best emulators next to AudioRealism Baseline 2

i would use the classic way to make a psy bass, but of course if one wants to use the acid sound as a bass it would not really be a bass. Well it could be, but most people would call the kick the bass in that case, as the bass is the foundation, the lowend of a track.

anyway it can probably be real cool to layer a acid sound ontop of the bass...

IMO something cool to do would be to have a thick lower layer more akin to traditional psybass lowpassed so that its mostly oomph and lower frequencies, then layer an acid bass patch highpassed with nice rezzy stuff....and you could play with the automation of that without affecting the low end drive of the track

layering bass is fun            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

I do this alot these days actually.

Mid bass is either an acid or has an acid layered on it.
Automate the cutoff to keep the tones low and grumbling and compress them all together to make them gel.

Its beer appreciation month.
