you have to attach the right BPM to your wavs (if you put the BPM in the name of the file ableton will automatically detect that), and ableton does all the rest

SMS, you're right, You don't need to perform beat matching youself. But last week-end, I used Ableton for a Chill out & Progressive Mix. I got 2 problems:
1. Some time the beat matching is not correct. Mainly when you don't have 4/4 tempo.
2. I got high pitched rings on a specific track (Bing Bang from GMS & Jimbo). I played again this track on the CDJ100s and with VirtualDJ, nothing wrong occured. I just had a 3 EQ effect loaded on the master output. I didn't understand what occured here.
I was disapointed after those problems, especially as it was my 1st public performance with Live.

Now, I've used it many time to produce trance mixes I never got such problems.
And with the last version you have a very clear tutorial on how to DJ mix with Live.

Indeed these "problems" do not seems to be so easy to handle. What I do when I have a track that mess with Live beat match(like having "speed up/down" sample), is to divide this track into two or three. Like, the first one to mix in the track, the second with the "messy part", and third for mix out. As u donīt need to beat match these 3 tracks, all u need to do is to glue them. Try diferents "Launch Modes" to make the transition better.

I canīt understand problem number 2 so well. Do u mean that the track has not the same pitch? For this things u need to choose best Warp Mode. I use "Re Pitch" a lot, wich changes the pitch(key root) if u change the bpm. But with this option I have the best "no grainy" results.

Thx for your suggestion on the 1st problem. The 2nd one, I tried to reproduce it without success. Don't know what really happened...

Yesterday night I performed a short mix (1h30) with Ableton in a small club here. I had a lot of fun. I mixed fullon trance and the software behave very well. I got a Berhinger BCF2000 control surface to trigger the soft and it was very amazing.

The number of available Fx and their quality are surprising.

Live is a very good mixin solution
