Im making an live act with a string bass live instead using a synth bass, but Im having a lot of trouble with it.
Cant find anyway to make some good medium frequencies, and if I do it I lose all the sub

Any 1 tried that before, or have any idea of a plugin (for mac, AU) that can help me?

thx guys

I would just lose the bassplayer. I have seen many live acts that way and it never seems to work. It just isnt tight enough and often clashes with the kick.

The same goes for a drummer. If you really want to use a drummer just don't amplify the kick and the snare. Just use the hihats, crashes and other percussive sounds.           soundcloud.com/supergroover

+1. electronic music needs quantize. though string bass might be cool in studio recordings.

Quantize its not the trouble, the bass player got a realy good timing and the Side Chain make the rest.
What I was realy having trouble is with the medium frequencies.           www.myspace.com/kromaticmusic

try a multiband distortion (like quadrafuzz or others like that) and push the gain on the mid band

Slap n Pop it over a synth bassline.

Smugg Juggler do it quite often when they perform. When Hiyarant starts slapping his bass, the dancefloor goes off.

Got a video of that by any chance? Wouldnt mind seeing a 'psytrance' band that actually works with a bass.           soundcloud.com/supergroover

The prob with multibands distortion like quadrafuzz is that they dont create medium frequencies, the just make distortion on the frequencies that arealy exist. I need something that creat medium fq. based on the low fq.
