So how do you think accoustic bands play?
No, not a problem...off course will depend on many things...what mics u use, mics placement, etc...
What do you want to mic?

im also planning to play flute live.
ive got a rhodes Nt3 condenser mic...any suggestions on stage setup / mic placement would be greatly appreciated.
actually, any suggestions on mic placement in the studio would be good too...i just kind of set it up and play into it but i know mic placement is very important
have a nice day

"Chuk" - as you may or may not know, feedback only occurs when the mic is in front of a speaker, if you're behind the PA you should be fine, otherwise watch out, and i'd do a little test run beforehand if possible..
when is the gonna be done?
i'd like to be there if there's a party around.. |

You have to cut out the Freq's that are feeding back..... usually with a graphic EQ.
During sound check/set up, boost the gain untill feedback starts to occur then guess the Freq and then drop it out on the Graphic EQ. Every acoustic space is different (e.g. size), hence.... so will be the Freq. |

face out a problem can be the delay. the more fx you put on it the more delay it'll have so get a decent soundcard and use light fx. if you have DSP effects it's time to use them.
i had this problem running a guitar (dry sound) to my computer thru guitar rig for recording a friend of mine. it had delay so i had to pass the dry sound thru quadrafuzz (less delay) for distortion (so the guitarist could feel more or less how it would end) and then passing the recorded audio thru guitar rig. and i was using a decent soundcard (m-audio's ozonic soundcard).

I dont think you will get feedback.. specially since the DJ is typically behind the speakers, unless they have monitors on stage.

if your still havin probs, mabey u should look at a more
tighter polor pattern mic with better feedback control,
I use a sm86 live and its pretty good..
as long as you set up your mic with the butt facing the dj monitor its pretty sweet..
I've had good results with using lapel mics on flute as well
